It’s the right call but man. All 3 SEC schools left out would absolutely blast SMU and Boise State

The problem isn’t BAMA v SMU. The problem is pretending these auto byes are equal.

Alabama’s out of conference is not why they are out though

Oregon #1 seed maybe had the two toughest teams in their bracket?

You can ask all the questions you want Clemson is getting handled in Austin.

Sorry.

that's possible but Clemson should be healthier by then and your starting QB isn't gonna run on us. Couldn't ask for a better matchup

If you start from the premise that the CFP is designed to limit the SEC, then it all makes sense.

1. Oregon

5. Texas
6. Penn State
7. Notre Dame
8. Ohio State
9. Tenn
10. Indiana
11. SMU
12. Clemson (16th ranked)

First team out:

Texas 5 vs Clemson 12 (Austin)
Penn State 6 vs 11 SMU
ND 7 vs 10 Indiana (South Bend)
OSU 8 vs 9 Tenn (Columbus)

Wow... UGA got a realy kind draw.

First round is bye
Second round will be ND or Indiana... neither of which is dominant.
Third round will be PSU, SMU or Boise State.

And then is the championship game.
