If you were paid millions to QB a college team and had eligibility? But he does have to be enrolled.

HS students have to maintain academics for eligibility and have attendance standards to be able to participate in games. Take the college off the name of the sport at this point.
Don't expect the NCAA to do anything about it.

If you’re gonna follow this sport, you need to abandon your belief that these people are college students. 90+% are taking the mandated minimum on-line classes brought about by the COVID scam, and have someone else doing the work.

This is now the NFL with one year only contracts. You’re cheering for laundry.

Yep, so he's not a student athlete.
This is the key to reigning in the chaos but of course it won't happen: every state and all private schools should have high standards for student athletes and only student athletes should be eligible for college football.

Sheesh. He was in classes for the fall semester. The playoffs are a continuation of the fall.

Not trying to defend him, but if you listen to his full answer he said that he is taking online grad classes. He said that he didn’t enroll in classes for the spring term bc he’s moving on after this game.
Almost all schools offer online grad programs. If you don’t like that student athletes can do online grad programs, that’s not an NCAA issue. That is a much larger college education issue. Most schools almost have to offer online programs to build enrollment. If not, Southern New Hampshire and U of Phoenix will just get bigger

It is a complete joke. They don't even pretend any more. Remember when... Guys couldn't get in because of SAT score or grades? Now they skip 20% of high school and start college in the spring. Guys having to go JUCO just to get into D1 college. When they told you before every game what a guy was majoring in? When guys got suspended for not going to class? Greed has ruined amateur athletics from the Olympics to College...and now starting High School and even younger.

Ah yes, good ol' Prop 48 days when there was actually standards for athletes to get in school and qualify to play.
NCAA Proposition 48 (Prop 48) was a controversial 1980s rule requiring incoming college football (and other) freshmen to meet minimum high school GPA (2.0 in core subjects) and standardized test scores (SAT 700/ACT 15) to play their freshman year, allowing non-qualifiers to enroll but sit out a year,

Dude, he graduated from UGA. He was attending fall classes at Miami. He's just not enrolling for the spring semester, which began this past week.

is amazing that someone making millions and graduated years ago can still play. fricking insane now .

These guys don't even have the NFL as an incentive anymore. They can cash out in "college" and loaf the rest of their lives if they want. Retire at 27

By "get" do you mean he stole someone else's work like he did at UF?

The NCAA ended up doing that sliding scale thing for eligibility.

It was funny. I think if you had like a 4.0 in HS... you could make a 17 on the ACT (or SAT equivalent-760?)... and if you made like a 28 ACT you could have a 2.0 in core courses.

Like those combinations were ever going to happen.

Joe Burrow was doing this in 2019, pre-COVID. Never set foot on campus except for the practice field and film room.

If he was smart he would have tried to get his masters from Miami which is a great school.

His football career will be cut short after tomorrows game

If he’s relatively money smart he might already be set for a good while.

I'm surprised Auburn isn't claiming 11 or 12 titles. If you're going to live in Fantasyland, why not let your imagination run wild?

You would think so, however, I venture very few if any have the maturity to invest their NIL money and live comfortably. They’ll act like lotto winners living the high life and be broke in several years.
