this seems like it's supposed to be an insult but it really isn't. If he leaves we'll have career backups and two TFr competing for the starting job. In a year we open with clemson and go to tuscaloosa, austin, etc. Wouldn't we be silly NOT to want beck to return?

I didn't watch much of the GA Tenn game. I'll have to check it out.

I think the conclusion most have come to in this thread (including you) makes the most sense. Will depend how he looks against really solid pass defenses the next few games.

Does he want a first round grade or a top 10 grade? Significant difference in money

Well next year he could be staring down the barrel of having No Bowers, No McConkey, and 3 starting OL gone including the center, all against a much less friendly schedule.

So while yes if he gets a late first grade he might think about staying to improve his stock, you might want to strike while the iron is hot. And for most NFL players getting to that second contract as quickly as possible is where the big money is.

When you go to the ole miss recap here: LINK the first video at the link shoudl be "beck threads the needle to ladd mconckey". That's an NFL throw IMO. It was nothing crazy, just a skinny post, but it was thrown absolutely perfectly between corner and safety. Those are the type of throws you want from an NFL QB.

Against a lot of backups in an already bad secondary, but he was zipping passes into some tight windows.

A lot of those plays looked like pre-snap reads based on coverage, which is also a valuable skill in itself, but its not like he decided in a split second the guy was open between 3 defenders and zipped it in there either.

He was always supposed to be a 1 and done. After he gets his 3rd national championship ring there will be nothing more to show the scouts. He has an elite QB trainer and his back ups are expecting Beck to move on

Beck is elite at presnap and postsnap.

He gets in a rhythm and forces balls. Those are nfl throws. It will be seek if better DBs can make him pay for being confident in his howitzer

I'm super impressed with his ability to play behind an NFL Oline and literally not have to do anything.

He'll probably be more durable in the NFL than Burrow has been with the most talent in Bengals history around him.

He certainly can...I'm just not sold on him as an NFL QB right now.

Carson Beck often releases the ball within 3 seconds with accuracy.

The last Georgia QB with a similar quality release combined with great arm strength was Matthew Stafford.

You or all of the other Tenner alts say the same thing every year. You just cant seem to comprehend the effects of stacked recruiting classes

I think if he wins the NC he'll go. Another season would be more likely to lower his draft stock as opposed to raising it.

Carson Beck and his family LOVE UGA and Athens.

Right now, because of his rising stock in the NFL, UGA putting together a financial package rumored to be in excess of $1 million in order to get him to come back next season.

I darn well hate this NIL mess....the idea of having to pay players in order to get them to stay, etc. College football's gone to hades.

I need to see more. The O line negates any pressure at all and he's hitting wide open guys on dig routes and crossers. Easy throws.

Me saying this doesn't mean he can't beat Alabama. He certainly can...I'm just not sold on him as an NFL QB right now.

Go back and watch the Ole Miss game and the skinny post to McConkey for a TD. That ball had to be thrown on a dime in a very tight window and he ripped that thing on a rope where only Ladd could catch it then come back here and try to tell us that he isn't NFL material.

That was an NFL throw

And Stafford is gonna waltz into Canton.
