Can you recall someone coming back from an ACL tear in 6 months?

Legitimate question here. Cam Sims tore his ACL and LCL in the spring and has been cleared to play Saturday. He hasn't even been in a non contact jersey in practice. How normal is it for someone to be back so soon after and injury like that, because I can't really think of anyone.

Is Cam Sims a cyborg or do you think Bama has managed to get Unicorn Antler spray. Or is the team surgeon repairing the ligaments with Adamantium. Scarborough is on track to me back mid season as well. Just seems odd

That's absurdly fast. Chicago Bulls need to hire the bama surgeon.

One of our RBs Juan Day tore his in the spring and was doing non-contact drills in fall camp. Expected to be back by SEC play (week 4 for us).

I think it depends on the severity of the tear and the person's own ability to rebuild tissue.

Well, my brother played college basketball as a shooting/point guard and came back in 4.5 months. It's certainly doable. Of course, the lighter you are the less stress you put on your ligaments, so that's a factor too.

Dr. James Andrews

He went to Med school at LSU. Serves as a team doctor for both Auburn and Alabama and has operated on most pro athletes.

Antonio Morrison tore his ACL and MCL and had two surgeries in January.

He's been practicing full contact for almost all of fall camp. ACL injuries have gone from being career Ending injuries to being something that not only do players come back from, but come back better than ever and in less than a year.

Crazy how all we heard was how bad it was and how far behind he was with his rehab. Gotta be HGH.

I am just glad that it is usually not career ending anymore. It is amazing how fast athletes are recovering.

Alabama's season ends with Coker shouting at Saban not to stick the needle in Cam's leg, then Saban is banished by the team and Jake coaches the team to a second half, come from behind victory in the Iron Bowl.

I know Andrews was in Birmingham for years, and I know that he's an LSU grad...but didn't he move his practice or set up a clinic where he works out of a ton in either Destin or PCB Florida a few years back?
