The decision to pull the ball or hand it off was made for cam pre-snap by Gus everytime. He never read the DE, he was told what to do with the ball before the play was snapped. Same thing with Nick Marshall.

Absolute BS.
Cam is a starting QB in the NFL........but he doesn't have the "mental acuity to run an offense".

am I in a time machine?
He was an NFL starting QB since day 1, and still is today some 8 years later. No one at that level has ever questioned his mental acumen.
Yet some still are running with the narrative that Cam wasn’t smart enough to run an offense?

"Half the time when I’m saying a play, I’m wrong, and those guys, they fix it," Newton said. "It’s like my auto correct." - Via Fox Sports
"Cam Newton is no brainiac. From all accounts, he came off as an idiot on Jon Gruden's show on ESPN. He looked as if he had no idea what was going on. He was stumped by Gruden's questions" - Jim Folsom
“It was a bad fit from the get-go. If you would’ve put me with any other quarterback, let’s be real, you know what I’m saying? Any other accurate quarterback like [Aaron] Rodgers or Eli Manning or Big Ben — anybody! — quarterbacks with knowledge, that know how to place a ball and give you a better chance to catch the ball. It just felt like I wasn’t in that position.” - Kelvin Benjamin

Manziel was better than both, and the statistics support that

Jon Gruden puts Cam on the spot
Here's a little reading material for you bud.
and yes, a quote from the man in question. A quote from a NFL analyst and a quote from one of Cam's top receivers he played with is enough reference to constitute validity my man.

I get it, you have a double digit iq. it's okay... Is this your first year of football?

Sure, having Cam on our team would have made our team better, but that is a stupid argument to make regarding who is the better player. One plays the most influential role in the game, and touches the ball every snap, the other plays in the secondary. Tyrann has stats and plays that don’t even make remote sense for a player of his position, and he should have been a Heisman winner. He is the most electric college player I have ever seen and somehow from the secondary felt like he was a threat to do something big on every play. He is by far the most impressive college football player I have ever seen play.
If the question is just oh would you switch out Cam for anybody? Obviously not but that doesn’t mean Matthieu wasn’t a better player. Cam was the best QB and QB is by far the most individually influential position on the field. IMO he wasn’t the better player.

Unfortunately for Kelvin he eventually had other QB's and we realized Cam was propping him up.
The fact that this thread hasn't already finished with a unanimous "it's Cam" is a wonderful reminder of why Cam was so special beyond just his play on the field. The LSU guys advocating for Honeybadger is the best.

Ssh, you are ruining the, "it was Cam's Fault" schtick.
KB 3 years after Cam 597 yards, 3 years with Cam 2424

quote:This has little to do with the OP. And to clarify the difference between Mathieu and any other defender- most elite players are physical demigods. Mathieu was at best a 3rd down scatback in body, too short, too small, average speed for a little guy. But he made about 8 plays on the field that season, that would have been left out of the Waterboy because they were too unbelievable.quote:
Tyrann Mathieu is the best defensive player in same time frame. Nobody can compare to the plays that dude used to make. He's made plays on the field that I haven't seen before or since. Absolutely amazing football player. Geaux Honey Badger.
Eric Berry was in that time frame.
Yeah, Cam is the best single player I've seen in the SEC in a long, long time.

Kelvin Benjamin? The guy who played for 3 teams in 2 seasons? Currently not on a team? Played with 2 league MVPs and still sucks? THAT Kelvin Benjamin?

Yeah, because KB has had so much success with the other QBs he’s played with.
If you’re going to troll at least do it right.
