I don't think he's as good a recruiter as Orgeron was, but he is apparently a decent recruiter.
Notre Dame has decades of tradition that's not dead yet, and some Catholic kids go there as just a matter of course, so they have that advantage, but LSU lacks the academic requirements that Notre Dame has, and there are lots more elite athletes in the Southeast, so it's probably a bit of a wash.

uhh, I said LSU has some recruiting advantages. I guess you want me to say that Kelly is going to be the best recruiter in the nation, but I don't think that, so not sorry.

An unlikable kid with downs and a nub arm could recruit a top 10 class to LSU. I enjoy hating on the corndogs as much as the next guy but this is just dumb.

The Les Miles tenure might as well be 50 years ago. Now, we have NIL money and head coaches getting $100 million contracts. I predict Louisiana recruiting will start to mirror Florida, Texas, and California recruiting. In other words, state allegiance will have some impact but very little overall impact. Kids from Louisiana aren't going to care about going to LSU when they can make 6 and 7 figures with NIL at Bama or A&M or UGA.

There's no excitement in Louisiana about Brian Kelly among recruits aside from Walker Howard who was already considering ND. Is the Anderson kid from New Orleans reconsidering his commitment to Bama? I haven't heard so. I hope Bama takes Anderson, Law, and Preston.

Word on the street is other competing programs are arranging meetings between recruits and business people and recruits are being told if you sign with us we guarantee you will receive said amount of NIL money. LSU better get on it.
