Bielema and Tuberville is actually a pretty good comparison.

I wouldn't say it's so much "WTF" losses as it is his teams just starting slow. We never look good early in the season and that's when we play the cupcakes most of the time. By midseason we're playing Bama to one-possession games.

Does that mean he'll suddenly improve for 5-6 years, but then he'll have a 5-7 season in year 10 and get fired?

sure they're similar. but they're very different in an important area.

bert has an offensive identity that works in a very balanced way. he's not gonna convert to spread shite

Tuberville absolutely pwned Bama until his demise in 2008. Assuming that Arkansas' biggest SEC rival is LSU: if Bert can continue the pwnage of the Tigers then he's well on his way.

Tommy was also a riverboat gambler. Bert is 3 for 3 on 4th down conversions this season.

Bielema would be hard to beat with a roster full of 4 and 5 star players. Just a fact

6 or 7 wins is what we are in for. Wisky warned us.

Wisky warned y'all? Bert only had one year there where he won less than 8 games...he was the first coach there to win 11 games in the regular season and he had 4 seasons with 10+ wins...also had 3 consecutive Big 10 Championships and 3 consecutive Rose Bowls...what exactly did they warn you about?

Notabertfan was put out of business when his all you can eat buffet restaurant was decimated by Bert.

He's held a grudge ever since.

A sloppy first game was somewhat forgivable for us this year with all the new pieces and the kinks to be worked out. If we play like that against TSU then I'll be more worried. LA Tech is also a decent program for a non power 5

I like Big Bielema. I think a few SEC teams (i.e., Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi St.) may have been looking past their first opponent somewhat to bigger games in Week 2. That's a hard psychological dynamic to guard against sometimes.

One thing about that Arkansas-TCU game, though -- the referees missed an obvious facemask by Jeremiah Ledbetter that led to the fumble by Deante Gray. That was a big play in the game that most likely took points off the board.
