If Brennan is as good as Zach Mettenberger it’d still be a fairly steep difference

I love Brennan, but there will be a drop off. Burrow was a God, if Brennan plays very very good, there will still be a drop off. I dont care about physical tools. Burrow just did things we have never seen.

Easy now. He had one truly incredible season. It takes more than one season. You have to sustain it for at least two or three to be considered one of the all time greats.

Of course theres going to be a drop off. That doesn't mean we won't be in playoff discussion though. Brennan was a top name the year Tua signed. If Bama can compete w/ Mac, we can certainly be in the running w/ Myles.

I disagreed.

We won't see another QB like Burrow for a long time. Brennan will certainly be a force and I think we'll win a lot of games with him at the helm. But there will absolutely be a noticeable drop off.

Which is it, is Burrow the greatest QB ever or a product of the system that Brady only called 10% of the plays in? Alot of people talking out both sides of their mouths

Jesus, yes there will be a big drop off...and that's ok. There is no way he can replicate what Burrow did this year. NO ONE IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL HAS. Fans like you are setting yourselves up for a huge disappointment with this line of thinking. He could throw for over 3500 yards and 30 TDs and that's a huge drop off. Its a great season, but a huge drop off from a historic all time great season.

Exactly. If you get 30 TDs and 6 picks out of him I'd consider that a great season

Brennen has an arm on him, and you can tell he’s learned some touch, not 100mph fastballs every time he throws. He’s fast, probably as fast as Borrow...But, can he take a hit, and run a complete Offense, all the intangibles that were never in question with JB. Going to be an interesting Off season, but people can’t be expecting a repeat of what we just saw...

This is the jargon I have seen over the last few months or so (here and on other boards) along with what I've seen in the last 24 hours:

Past: "Joe Burrow is the greatest QB in the history of college football. There has never been a QB with a season like this"

Now: "Brennan won't be much of a drop off"

Past: "Joe Brady is playing chess while the rest of the SEC is playing checkers. Brady is staying put...LSU = Stacked...SEC = Fricked"

Now: "Ensminger called 90% of the plays this season. Coach O new Brady was leaving before the CG, so he had very little involvement in the plan or the play calling."

Believe it or not but Brennan has a stronger arm than Burrow. It's his accuracy that will be key and reading defenses that will determine his success.
It's his time, I like it that we have someone that has been in the system for awhile.
LSU can win with redshirt Jr Myles Brennan
He was not ready two years ago when Burrow showed up

If you get that out of him with a handful of rushing TDs and 1200 yards and 10 TDs out of a RB you will be fine, any team would be for that matter. I remember everyone having a hard on for the QB that was going to follow Cam and Dyer at RB in 2011, didn't go well. Things can change in a hurry with kids, injuries and bad decisions off the field. Enjoy this for what it was, next year is another year that will be unrelated to any success from this season.

So barry sanders isn’t in the running for best college player ever?

I get what you’re saying, but if you have one season at the burrow or barry level. You might be the greatest

I also consider LSU is a QB graveyard and he got there late after not playing for 3 years
