Gambling addiction is so pathetic. I have no sympathy for people who get addicted to it because it’s insanely easy to avoid

I feel like it's just as "avoidable" as other common additions like alcohol. It's super easy to just have an app on your phone, just like it's easy to walk into a liquor store.
The brain chemistry science is there for gambling addiction. It's a real thing.
I don't personally understand how it's possible, because I find it so easy to just not gamble, but I feel that way with alcohol as well. Addiction is scary.

According to the TT On3 board, he was betting on Indiana games while he was on the team. He did bet on them to win and he did not play in those games but thats still a hard thing to defend.

If I were betting on sports and it was illegal... The FIRST thing I would do is put "betting on sports" on my Venmo.
Just like if Arturo Beltran venmoed a hooker... he would put "paying for sex " on there.

It’s the dopamine effects after winning that keeps them going. No different than a lot of addictions.
It’s not easy to avoid when it’s on your phone.
What’s scary now is them adding slot machine and table games to these apps. It’s only going to get worse.
