Honestly... it's he's "camps" way of trying to salvage his career.

Same story with every type of athlete. Tiger Woods got his arse beat and then got divorced for cheating... so he checks into a sex addiction facility, LOL.

Sorsby was likely making six figures to play college football... but addicted to gambling??? Hope he goes broke.

Sounds like he’s just worried that his gay porn addiction may be revealed, so he’s projecting.

Your PR point is valid, but Tiger is a legitimate addict. Pills, booze, sex, etc. He's a junkie and has been for a long time. We just like it when he dominates golf so we keep forgiving him

It became legal in most states to do on your phone and we have advertisements shoved down our throat during every sporting event on TV.

It seems like a ton of people I know are constantly betting on games now. No wonder everyone is broke.

Yes.

One is a thrill hobby. The others affect the chemical balance of your bodies and are actual addictions.

I have no sympathy for any if the above. Get help or shut up.

This is a lawyer advised move to help gain sympathy in NCAA court. It is akin to the politician/movie star sex addicts.

Yes it is. Don’t download it

Tell an alcoholic "just don't go to a liquor store". Their brains are wired in a way that others not suffering from addiction do not fully understand. I admit I don't understand it, but I believe it because I've seen it from really good people that know it's wrong, but can't stop themselves.

ETA:

I have no idea if Sorsby is a real addiction case, just speaking generally.

I would have some really strict rules for student-athletes and gambling. Maybe do random phone checks and if the app is on there, immediate suspension. Get caught twice, gone. This in addition to general rules about not gambling.

Gambling, booze and drugs all create a surge of dopamine and screws up the reward center of your brain. They might take some different roads to get there but they all have generally the same destination for your brain. I'm not advocating for sympathy, just pointing out they are all pretty similar.

Same with sugar and social media scrolling...not as intense, but same reactions in the same parts of the brain.

Crazy.

Gambling addiction is so pathetic. I have no sympathy for people who get addicted to it because it’s insanely easy to avoid

There’s a reason these companies have apps. Phone are hardwired to be addictive. They have teams of MFers trying to ensure kids addicted from an early age with that Roblox shite and other phone games. It’s evil. They know exactly what they’re doing and what buttons to push.

No.... he's an athlete and someone who thought he was invincible. Sorry but I view people w/those additions as weak minded.

However, nobody is forced to take that easy road... it's all a choice.

That could be said for most addictions though (with the exception social media, I guess). I think it’s a dopaminergic imbalance like they all are. When it gets out of whack, it’s tough to tame.
