LSU dodged that one. I believe he was their first choice of the transfer QB lot

I’m going to sit this one out. My wife passed away in 2023 from liver failure. The real reason was because she broke her shoulder in 2017 and became dependent on pain meds. She didn’t use her meds to get high, her only desire was to reduce her pain to a dull ache instead of constant. You want emotional pain? How about trying to keep a brave front KNOWING that the person you love most in the world is in pain and you can’t do anything about it? The Death Angel came to her as a friend instead of a foe. I can only hope that we’ll be together again someday. For now, our grandchildren still need their Papa and I plan on being there for them for as long as possible. Addiction is a journey that I refuse to make judgment on, because it could be me one day

Exactly and why do athletes with millions to lose smoke pot knowing if they get caught they lose money? Seems easy to avoid but that is why it is called an addiction.

According to the TT On3 board, he was betting on Indiana games while he was on the team. He did bet on them to win and he did not play in those games but thats still a hard thing to defend.

This is huge. This means that Alabama is going to be listed as winning the Rose Bowl after all their games are forfeited.

In fact, Alabama could have won another NC if not for that loss to Indiana holding them back.

We got another one, Roll Tide!

That's very unfortunate and I wish you the best in keeping your spirits up and continuing on.

How can he ever play again? Too risky that he's throwing games.

He plays for Texas Tech and they went to the playoff and promptly got their butt kicked by Oregon.

Will be very hard to prove he threw games.

The problem in today's sports betting is prop bets. You can throw those bets without impacting game outcomes.

That’s what Jontay Porter got caught doing.

And even if the effect isn’t obvious that little stuff can add up.

It feels like enough people get this wrong that I should keep explaining it. The NCAA vacating wins is dumb. We saw the game, we know what happened. Saying it didn't count after the fact is a waste of time. That being said, they vacate the wins, bit the losses remains. If Indiana beat Alabama and Indiana has the win vacated, Indiana loses the win, Alabama keeps the loss.

Michael Jordan is a huge, well known gambler....he's admitted to betting $300,000 on a single putt....but it would "seem" to not be an addiction for him. Phil Nickleson is also a big gambler, betting significant money on Thursday practice rounds for years. But this is not new, when my son was in college 20 years ago, a runner would drop off the old fashioned football betting cards at all the frat houses on LSU's campus..

Yep. Making bets involving your own team will always be a major issue - as it should be.

Why do we care if he gambled on sports as long as it’s not his team? People wanted easy access to gambling and this is what you get. We can’t keep players from getting NIL money so why should we tell them what to do with it?

Pitchers & prop bets are the highest single risk in sports betting. As a whole though, CFB might be the slowest, fattest duck on the pond.
