Obviously you all wanted Alabama to flunk out on this coaching search, but within 48 hours Greg Byrne hit a home run.
I’ll admit that personally I wanted Sarkisian as my first choice, so good on Texas for keeping him (Smart was never a realistic option). After Sark (or Smart) though, DeBoer was the best hire out there and Bama landed him without issue.
The fear and the denial from all of yall (excet UGA fans) is palpable. You so desired Alabama to fall on their face, and now have to face an even better gameday X’s and O’s coach than Saban, who now gets to do it behind the power of the Bama machine.
Not saying he is better than Saban (that would be retarded) who was obviously the hardest working recruiter and program builder in history, but even Saban admitted he was never the best X’s and O’s coach. But now you have an even better technical coach who gets to work behind the personnell machine that Saban built. You are all terrified and it is hilarious to watch from the Alabama side of things. Just like the past 4 years, it will continue to be Bama, Georgia, and then a bunch of pissants battling for whatevers left. Rmft.

seems like a good coach
we don't give a shite about his NAIA record
He's unproven at a consistent high level
Hasn't proven to be an elite recruiter
Ultimately its a wait and see. He's got a lot of built in advantages at Alabama and may prove to be an elite coach. But nobody is scared of your hire. In fact, most of us feel as optimistic as we've been in 16 years no that the GOAT coach has departed. I feel confident in saying DeBoer isn't winning 6 championships.
