What sporting event is your state most known for that is not an SEC event?

Talladega.

It’s a sport, don’t hate if you’ve never been.

2024 National collegiate mountain biking championship was held in Bentonville and the Olympic mountain biking team has been training here since prior to the last Olympics. I guess it worked out because they are still here. They all went for ice cream downtown after training one night a couple weeks ago. They were nice enough to let my kids and me in front of their very large group

Certainly one of the biggest crowds for a sporting event in the state.

Carolina Cup (1932) and Darlington (1950) might can make a claim - maybe even the Cooper River Bridge Run (1978) -

but the true answer is the Loris Bog-Off -

That was the one I was thinking of, but that’s only if MidSouth Wrestling doesn’t have their big event in Biloxi that year.

Saints Game

Occasional Super Bowl, Final Four, and CFPNCG

*Sugarbowl no longer has guaranteed SEC tie in

Plenty of events of this size and caliber or bigger that aren’t sporting events.

The Masters

There’s like 6 Dawgs there plus a Gator, a Gump, and 2 eunuch bulls

Absolutely an SEC sporting event
