It seems like the former Ole Miss's RB star power tanked at Ohio State. He didn't get 200+ carries again for sure.

3. Walter Nolen (DL) (A&M --- Ole Miss)

Nolen just declared for the draft today. His college career was pretty mediocre in total.

Wasn't he injured most of the year?
Yes, he has been hobbled with an ankle injury for half the season and re-injured it in the SECCG.

Even so I told people early in the season Matthew Golden could be Quinn's favorite target and he was and still is. Of course I didn't see Gunnar Helm (TE) coming on like he has and getting his share of passes as well.

Doesn't qualify as "biggest bust" or frankly even a bust at all. Just sour grapes on your part from him leaving.

No sour grapes here. I wish former players well. It also doesn't hurt that Williams replaced him and is a better player than Bond was even at his peak for Bama.

But all indications were he would flourish with Sark and at the very least improve on his stats while he was at Bama. He didn't really do that, even when healthy.

I didn't even mention Niblack, a Bama TE that all but disappeared this season at Texas.

Noles was selected as an AP First Team All American.

For him to be "medicore in total" suggests he was hammered shite at his previous school.

19. Lance Heard (OT) (LSU --- Tennessee)

Tennessee finished 10-2 and had a strong run game. At Left Tackle, Heard played the following number of snaps against UT opponents:

Vandy - 73
UTEP - 41
Georgia - 72
Kentucky - 82
Alabama - 71
Florida - 69
Arkansas - 64
Kent State - Out Injury
Oklahoma - Out Injury
NC State - 63

I don't see how earning a starting job at Left Tackle for the 3rd best rushing team in the SEC would make him a bust.

Mine was the ranking of transfers last year during portal season, not a bust list.

I don't see how Gerald Mincey wouldn't be on the biggest bust list

eta...should have been a response to the OP, rather than SOG.

The biggest success story might be the center who left Alabama.

It was nice to see that he learned how to snap the ball in the offseason.

For Oklahoma I nominate Deion Burks the transfer from Purdue.

Not a bust per se because he would have been our leading receiver had he not been injured in the Tennessee game.

For the five games he played he averaged 49 ypg, down a little from his average the previous season at Purdue.

His absence contributed to Oklahoma's 6-6 record but, had he been able to play every game his presence would not have changed the outcome of any of the ones he did not.

Brock Vandagriff was a massive miss.
Chip Traynum barely played.

Talk about a lot of NIL wasted on two guys

Any players that were hyped up in the portal and didn't come close to living up to it after transferring?

Kite for Auburn. He underperformed majorly, letting true FR outplay him in the secondary.

Also, the TexasU secondary transfer didn’t stand out either this season.

Heard got better as the season went on & his health improved. Was very effective as a run blocker.

As a Gamecock fan this makes me smile. You also misspelled his first name. It's Judas

How much did he tank his draft status? Hopefully, Alot.

Can I nominate Eli Ricks, post mortem?

From All-American, future first round pick at LSU to sitting in Saban's dog house under the bench for half his final season before becoming an undrafted free agent.

Johnson led us in tackles. We had a bust transfer from Georgia but it sure wasn’t Johnson. It was Vandagriff. I really thought he would be on the list.
