I agree. If they can't find landing spots then take tu/OU to the cleaners on buyouts. No way they can sit through 4 more seasons of this.

They are hoping the Big 12 now folds within a matter of months I'm guessing. No buyout in that scenario. Have to say well played if this comes to be.

That's a short sited game. There's nobody they can get that will bring in even half the revenue they lost with Texas and Oklahoma.

The Big 10 has a very lucrative TV deal and stability. No television station is going to give the Big 12 anything close to what they currently have now that Momma and Daddy have left

Grant of Rights bro. The Big 12 owns UT and OU's media rights through 2024 unless the conference ceases to exist prior to that, or someone buys the rights back from the Big 12. That's what's driving all this conversation. Big 12 has OU and UT by the short and curlies for a few more years unless it folds altogether.

It will because schools like Kansas and Iowa State will bolt to the Big 10 if offered. Nobody is going to wait around for the other shoe to drop and be left out in the cold

Any tv contract revenue is going to fall off a cliff.

It was already over the cliff... UT and OU leaving is just them pulling a TripleX style parachute move while watching a senator's car explode on the ground. They're cashing in and leaving everyone else to fend for themselves...

This. They're the most likely because they fit what B1G likes... since it only takes 2 in addition to UT/OU, there won't be anyone getting paid GOR buyout dollars.

It looks like they intend to hold sooner and longhorn in the conference until 2025.

TX and OU already have said they'll honor their contract. They don't want to pay out $80m each to the B12 members. They will likely get it reduced later and make the $30-40m payment.

Okie ST isn't getting in the B10. They've already said they will not take less academic institutions and that means they'll only consider AAU schools. That's ISU and KU and neither of those help the B10. Nobody cares about basketball money. Conference money is all about football and KU is pathetic. ISU is finally good at football but why add them when you already have Iowa?

B12 will add a few AAC schools like Cincy, Memphis, Houston and then BYU. They'll be the elite G5.

More likely they're expecting a pile of cash within the next year.

I thought it was a done deal and OUTU were going to lay out the cash now to rid themselves of these pests.

I know the sips and Sooners want this over sooner rather than later but if the remaining 8 go full Wrath of Khan and hold firm going to 2025 this will be ugly.

If they need a few years to figure out what the CFB landscape will look like…

They have already lost.

They are done and finished.

The SEC once again moving forward and making positive changes.

It’s not over yet.

But if you’re sitting around trying to figure things out, you’re done.

They’re not going to potentially throw away 150 million in buyouts. They’ll let Texas and OU make the first move there

BIG 12 is dead:

LINK

Basically the providers can renegotiate and lower there payouts when schools leave the league. So remaining schools won’t make nearly as much afterwards. Said other schools will naturally want to look elsewhere at that point.

Also, the other big 12 schools must know that the other conferences are not going to let the sec be the only super conference, so they would be stupid not to immediately reach out to said other conferences and get themselves a spot while they can.
