Big 12 officially extends offers to Houston, Cincinnati, UCF, BYU

Gus in the big 12, playing against mormons. That's a strange thought

You all think the big 12 stays power 5?

From watching YouTube videos (& my personal opinion), if they do - it'll be right on the line between Power Conferences/Group Conferences.

Now, the interesting thing amongst all this is the timing & how it'll impact OK/TX to the SEC. Not to mention the cost (if anything). & then the scheduling. Etc..

It'll be interesting to see how they're going to try & play multiple games of chess yet combined into 1 master game.

Then again, on the flip side, what does the SEC do about the final games of the current rotation vrs. adding OK/TX?

Also, Sugar Bowl Tie In SEC-B12 is through 2026, Cotton bowl is just as long.

By the time it expires we will be at 12 team playoff.

So, that's football.

Now, what about basketball, baseball, gymnastics, track, swimming....I could go on, but I think I will just sit here being smug.

I don’t know, I’d take Cinn, OkSt, Iowa St, UCF, Baylor over 60% of the ACC

I can’t find my reading glasses. Can one of you tell me where it says we’re going to the AAC

Well the best programs in the new Big 12 are from the AAC. But I guess it doesn't matter what you name the conference, Kansas will be the doormat either way.

It’s sounding more like 2023 now. I’m hoping OU, Tx, SEC, ESPiN, we’re forward thinking enough that it gets us out of the Big 12-2+2-2-2+4 after this season. Both OU and Tx voted for the expansion.

Based on what I read, it looks like all the AAC schools are playing out their contracts and can leave 2023 since they have to give 26 month notice and pay $10 million by their bylaws, could leave early if they pay more, then OU/tu need to pay $80 million each to leave just to break their contract, plus extra penalty, there is a Baylor beat writer all over this mess

One possibility is that the per-team media payout will go down. That reduces the amount that OU and TX have to pay to exit.

Not sure how this would affect the other Big 12 teams. BYU forfeiting a championship game only has a negative effect on BYU.

Scheduling will be a little more difficult. You really think BYU is going to join a league knowing beforehand they would have to forfeit the basketball/baseball championship if they made it?

Lol read today’s news, it doesn’t look like anyone is getting a discount on a buyout, this started a ripple affect bc the AAC how has to raid the Western? Conference, which has to raid the Sun Belt, it should be easy to find, very detailed

Memphis AD came out mad they weren’t picked by the Big 12, which they are a great Bball school

Be honest. Would Mizzou go 4-0 against those teams?

Them and Boise State are the biggest names I can think of, but the ESPN article said Boise to the AAC I believe if the big 12 doesn’t take them

I've been watching "John Kurtz" on YouTube - & he's the 1 talking about who/what with B12.
There's also "365 Sports", but that's like a talk show put on YouTube, so unsure how much truth they have.

Then, of course, there's "Gold & Blue Dude" who keeps on with WV to the ACC - which throws yet ANOTHER monkey wrench into the B12 decisions. However, the problem with that is ACC's GOR ends in 2036, so are they expanding, reducing, nothing?

This is an interesting article, if you look at the info below, does it mean they are only making $5 million less a year?

Third tier revenue averages for the league exclude Texas and Oklahoma.
After conference fees, the Big 12 Championship game and the Sugar Bowl payouts are divided equally amongst the members of the league.
