1) Your fan base prides itself on being redneck backwoods swamp people who attack visiting fans.
2) There’s literally a cow pasture right next to the stadium between it and the river.
3) As if stereotypes can’t get painfully more authentic, your bar scene is a genuine circus tent complete with portable pottys. I shite you not folks, they call it Tigerland.
LSU is by far the most overrated.

Lexington is underrated, went in 2007, LSU fans and UK fans and TVG's Todd Schrupp and Frank Lyons were trackside at Keeneland on Friday( won $350 on 10 cent superfecta boxes). Then a friend and I attended UK Midnight Madness. Then tailgated with amongst others (the LSU cow uni student from Bluegrass Miracle..a then Notre grad student)..
Game day was well laid out, the stadium had easy access to concessions..Les went conservative and let off the gas..ouch! Need to do the bourbon and thoroughbred farm tours next trip!
I enjoy Athens for the people, tailgating and bars. I enjoy Auburn for the day game atmosphere, TTown and Bama book store, ATM folks are great as is the Kyle Redux,etc..
The Grove/Vaught pleasant and decent concessions, Knoxville/Neyland cramped. The Swamp sweltering hot by day.

Never been to Missouri or UK. (Been to UK just not for a football roadtrip.)
Personally out of all of my road trips it may be surprising but my favorites were Arkansas and UGA. I loved the partying at Auburn and they had a surprisingly awesome little bar scene.
I think if UT especially this year was better in football it would have been much better.
I think the most overrated is Ole Miss by a lot, but I will say it is something every SEC fan needs to experience once meaning the Grove. (Say that about every school.)
Coming from LSU I compare ours a lot to UF, just my opinion. I thought Tuscaloosa is awesome simply because of the history and pageantry the first time going but I did not think the campus was anything spectacular and after going multiple times its a very dull tailgating and overall experience.
Reason I said Arkansas is one of the most beautiful drives I have ever made with friends, very nice people and not a whole lot of trash. Pretty good in game atmosphere as well but definitely hope they forever keep the game in Fayetteville. Nice bar scene after and the campus IMO is very nice and clean. UGA is awesome top to bottom.
Having said all of this I think this is what makes the SEC the best conference in America. There is not a single bad away game to visit, all unique in there own way, so it makes all of this subjective.
My personal list
Group 1
Georgia Arkansas
Group 2
Florida Auburn Alabama
Group 3
UT South Carolina Ole Miss
Group 4
Mississippi State Texas A&M Vanderbilt
Heard awesome things about gameday in Lexinngton so definitely want to go.

why on earth would anyone put Auburn at the top of any best road trip lists. that place is shite. not the worst in the SEC but still shite
Posted on 2/14/18 at 1:38 am to bigman334
Because of the fans. Auburn had some of the best in the SEC. To this day I'm still friends with a couple AU fans i met at my tailgate 10 years ago, great people. Bama has alot of good ones also, just alot of bad ones as well, like LSU.

Been to 4 or 5 AU games in BR. Yeah, it is easily my favorite. I stay in NOLA the Fri night before and Sat night after the game. Always have had a good time win or lose.
Also been to Gainsville, Athens, and that shithole in eastern Mississippi/western Alabama or wherever the frick it is. All 5 trips to BR have been better than any of the others period.

Been to every SEC Campus and every SEC Football Stadium on gameday but 4 East schools. Just went to Georgia, Arkansas, and Auburn this past year. And yes Georgia is overrated. The only benefit to me which I don't see too many people talk about is how close to Atlanta it is.

Athens is a fun town. It’s too bad it’s filled with Georgia fans
I'd say Athens is a much nicer town/environment, but LSU has the better gameday experience. Georgia fans are the worst.

All SEC venues are great in their own way.
Liked the Grove
Liked UGA's bar scene right on campus
Did Calhoun's in Knoxville

Yeah I don't think you're doing it right. Find some better people to guide you around. Every place has its crapholes, don't go to those.
Also, Starkvillian calling Baton Rouge redneck backwoods. Ok.

Last time I went to Starkville, some chick asked if she could get a chew from me. I did tailgate in some of those areas where people pay a company to setup and watch over your stuff. That was pretty awesome. Had lights, TV, and cold beer waiting on our return.
Arkansas in Little Rock has to be THE worst trip ever. Vandy is fun, usually because the visiting team has more fans there and there's the Nashville club scene. Florida sucked because you basically had to tailgate off campus and ride a bus in and out. Auburn & Bama were good. Ole Miss is way overrated. Still need UGA, Tenn, SC, UK, A&M, & Mizzou

your definition of "right next too" and my definition differ greatly.

That is correct the area that students go out is called Tigerland, and during home football games they set up a tent. Was this your first time leaving Starkville ever?

LSU is my personal favorite away trip, I think party due to the fact it's so rare.
I've been to every SEC venue except aTm (bc we've never played there in our history) and Gainesillve (bc we play in Jacksonville). Just about every away trip has some redeeming quality to it, my only exception would be starkville. Note that I'm not saying it's a hellhole and that I'll never go back, it's just there isn't anything about it to actually look forward to. It's more like going to your job; you go because you ahve to, watch your team, then get out.

Of course that why think it sucks. You have to get close enough to the stadium and univ ave where all the fun is.
