I punted a bit in HS, and this is hands down the best punt I’ve ever seen. Can’t be done any better… any honorable mentions?

Some of LSU punts against AU in 2010 were epic they kept us in game even though we lost Cams championship year.

that is a great punt.. thanks for sharing

i’ve always wondered why you don’t see more squib punts trying to hit a player for a fumble.. like rugby style right into the center of the field.. straight at a player or players running backwards to try and block

Deeply frustrating for an offense and a real weapon for the defense. Best punt I can recall seeing in Sanford.

I think it’s one of the best assets a team can have. The year OM had a pretty solid D in 2014 (save 4th and 25, Memphrica, and Will Grier) our punter was Will Gleeson and he could get great placement like this, but did the rugby style kicks from what I recall.

1979 - Carolina's Jay Feltz 82 yard punt in the blood feud with the outstanding Bob Fulton - "The Voice" - on the call.

First thing that came to mind was Graham Gano vs Wisconsin in a bowl game several years ago. Looked it up and it was the 2008 Champs Sports Bowl. Gano was named the MVP of the game.

quote:

But forget that. Gano may have saved this game for FSU as a punter, not a kicker, particularly in the first half when FSU could do virtually nothing on offense and Gano's right foot was the only thing keeping Wisconsin's Badgers at bay.

With the game scoreless, Gano dropped a 46-yard punt at the Wisconsin three on his first effort.

The next two went out at the Badger one, and that's being charitable. It was more like the one-inch line than the one yard line.

Kept Wisconsin pinned deep the entire first half while FSU's offense struggled to find its footing.

this is honestly hilarious and awesome at the same time.. I was at the game with my son and we were calling for Dickson on first down..

11 punts
10 inside the 20.. and 1 shank

We’ve had some good punters. The best field flipper was Braden Mann. Check him out vs Clemson.

Is that UGA punt just a product of the Vol player stupidly letting it go while at his 20?

Record for longest

NFL punt from back of end zone. Ball traveled 105 yards, pinned down the Broncos on their 2 yard line. Video inside link.

Imo you either want a punter with a canon of a leg, or a guy who can get the 5 seconds hang time consistently. Those 5 second guys are impressive to me as the longest punts.

He could have tried to run back and catch it, but the ball went a lot farther in the air than the Tennessee guy expected it to. That ball was blasted. It went about 70 yards in the air off of his foot.
