Hines Ward went to the same high school that I did, Forest Park HS. He was there quite a few years after me. The older UGA posters may remember a Scott Woerner from Jonesboro HS. Played against him, he was a helluva HS player. He played QB in HS, was a DB at UGA and played for the Cardinals (I think).

Notable Athletes from my high school:
FB: Willie McClendon (BMac's dad),"Racehorse" Lamar Davis,
Baseball: Adam Wainwright - St. Louis Cardinals
Basketball: Kwame Brown... NBA #1 overall draft pick - huge bust
Golf: Davis Love III

From our county:
FB: Darius Slay, CB (Detroit Lions currently)

Wainwright and Kwame were my era. Kwame was such a waste of talent. Surrounded himself with bad inluencers who gave even worse advice and just didn't have the drive to keep improving once he'd "made it". Wainwright was a multisport athlete... hell of a place kicker and not a bad WR either. Obviously had elite talent as a pitcher so picked the right sport.

Kwame committed to Billy Donovan at UF. Didn't he go straight to the pros and skip college?

Kerriy Valerie, Geoff Wilson, kenny king, Julio jones, dj fluker, tj yeldon, Ryan Anderson, Robert Lester. And the late snake stabler. I'm missing a few guys in there but we have had a ton of talent in Baldwin county.

If you're 25-30 I bet we know a lot of the same people. Got a lot of buddies from the Lou.

Best ball player I saw in high school in our district was Fred Rouse out of Tallahassee Lincoln. He was a frickhead but had unreal talent.

Roy Upchurch and Melvin Ray probably tie for second. Enrique Davis and Carlton Johnson were both animals. Enrique got soft and Carlton liked to party too much. CJ had dollar talent and a ten cent brain. Signed with auburn out of high school but never sniffed division 1.

Clete Thomas went to my high school and a few other guys since him have been in and out of the majors. Played ball with a first round pick that never made the bigs

As far as all time talent- there's no telling, Lincoln is an old school powerhouse in Florida and Godby was in our district too. I know Antonio Cromartie went to Lincoln.

Brett Bech WR- Slidell HS/ Saints
Edward Tillison RB- Pearl River HS/ Detroit Lions
Reggie Cooper S - Slidell HS/ Dallas Cowboys
Chris Faulk LT - Northshore HS

Torris Bright PG - Slidell HS
Chris Duhon - PG Salem HS/ several NBA teams

Leonard Fournette would have been in Slidell HS if he didn't drive to St. Aug. HS.

I played against Jamal and Reggie back in the day. All-stars every year they were in sub-district, and Dixie Boys at the old baseball fields. Good times. Jamal was a damn good shortstop.

No shite. Damn that's crazy.

Reggie actually got drafted to the Cubs a few years back.

Jamal ended up being a safety at GTECH, even though he was our QB.

Yea, we used to throw our slowest lefty against Wetumpka in high-school because of Reggie. Told him to throw it outside, and Reggie still hit lasers to the warning track.

Did you ever get to meet Bradley Roney? I had no idea, but he actually ended up playing baseball at USM and is doing pretty well in the minors.
