Sims is the better pitcher though if you are looking for just one or two innings to close a game
no he’s not. Just because kopps is unhittable for 4 or 5 innings doesn’t mean he’d be any less unhittable if he only game in the 8th or 9th. It’s just that he’s good enough to pitch 4 or 5 innings of elite baseball so why not let him.

best pitcher or best closer. And I realize a closer is a pitcher but he is doing his stuff for just a few innings.

the two at Vandy would like a word with you.

Yeah its fine semantics that are being argued here for different purposes. They both are bad arse pitchers.

One plays for the consensus # 1 team in the country and the other plays for a team that lost a series to Missouri.

Just wondering why Sims didn’t win or close a game during that arse kicking sweep Arkansas put on State at Starkville.

I dont really remember Sims when we swept you in your own house but I'm sure he's a fine pitcher.

Kopps and it isn't close.

Kopps: .80 ERA in 24 appearances with 56.1 IP. 33 hits, 5 earned runs. 89 Ks 14 BB. Opponents batting .168

Sims: .53 ERA in 15 appearances with 34 IP 13 hits 2 ER 10 BB 67 Ks opponents batting .114

Sims is better. Kopps has more appearances but that’s it

Posts like this are why you see stuff like Arkansas dropping a popup that would have won them a national championship. Karma has a habit of kicking really, really, really stupid fanbases right in the nuts.

He's so good they only play him on special occasions.

It seems like Kopps and Sims are very similar, but that our staff has done a better job of utilizing Kopps and his talent. Seems like the State coaching staff has really screwed themselves by letting Sims sit on the bench so much.

Now, we'll find out over the next month or so if this is really the case. Maybe State will use him more in the postseason. Maybe Kopps becomes overextended at some point and loses effectiveness. We shall see.

What does that say about the fanbase of MSU when karma has led them to zero team national championships?

Why would you box yourself in on that one.
