No, you are a version of every military battalions band.

Besides actually being military.

Aggie Band = kinda cool until you realize they literally do the same shite every single year, year after year after year.

no A&M's designs do change. It is however always a military style march.

Also, Ole Miss playing Love Dixie was pretty awesome. I believe it got a standing ovation the first time it was ever played, halftime in Death Valley. People don't realize that the melody was used by both sides in the war and a fav of Lincoln's but sure lets ban it anyways.

False, their songs do not change. Their designs change slightly, sometimes. But not really.

We do. The half time shows are very good in general. I just think it's absurd that they played music when Aaron Murray was asking the crowd to be quiet on offense.

We know our football and we don't want to play when the QB wants us quiet either. I tone it down significantly, as I'm sure many other members do, when we're on offense. That said, AD tells us when to play sometimes, and you can bet it's probably them causing us to play of offense occasionally...

They want "crowd involvement," so they request "Go Georgia Bulldogs" a lot. I'm pretty over it. Crowd doesn't really care what we do, vs say - LSU.

I apologize if you thought I was blaming the individual members of the band. I'm sure y'all know your football. I just look over and see the director waving their hands when we're supposed to shut up. Probably isn't a whole lot y'all can do about it.

In every competition with other college bands, The Golden Band From Tigerland has always come out on top. CBS, ESPN, ABC. Every time.

LSU in ESPN's Battle of the Bands

quote:

The Winner of ESPN's Battle of the Bands competition -- LSU. The Golden Band from Tiger Land's rendition of the Indiana Jones Theme Song for ESPN's Battle of the Bands and the Quest for the Crystal Contest. The LSU Tiger Band competed against the bands from USC, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Florida, and the University of Texas.

LSU will receive the crystal championship trophy and a $25,000 donation.

Nah, I knew that's not what you meant. People outside the band obviously aren't privy to a lot of internal mechanisms. We exist only because the AD wants us to exist and therefore - they control us to a large degree. A lot of song choices and when they are played come down to someone from Athletics radioing our directors during games, who then instruct the drum majors on what to do. For some reason, they think playing songs on offense is helpful. We don't get it, either.

The thing about our band is that EVERTHING they play has a meaning. The crowd/band become "one" during gamedays

The band leaves in the 3rd quarter?

So you're saying the only way you can look smart is to quote people out of context?

Noted.

So if that quote referred to the MDB, would that mean they'd fly through the air and attack rival fans?

This thread reminds me of a conversation I had with a coworker that is an Ohio State fan. I was telling him how irrelevant the Big 10 is in football these days and when he had nothing left to come back with he said, "Well the Ohio State band is really the best damn band in the land."

I told him I couldn't continue this conversation.
