After I bought a nice dreadought I bought an expensive pick to play it just because. $30 for one lol.
Blue Chip picks are kind of the shite for acoustic. I’m assuming that’s what you are talking about. And once you spend that on one you won’t lose it. At least i haven’t, where i lost 3 cheap ones per day.
I still use lighter picks for strumming stuff though (usually the yellow tortes 0.73).

Mine too! Bought at Dirt Cheep Music on hwy 41 in Kennesaw in 8th grade.
Mine was given to me from my parents for Christmas in 7th grade. They got it at Jennings Music in Marietta. That would’ve been 1994.
I gave it to a girlfriend while at UGA. I had an SG standard at that point (that i blew a whole summers worth of savings from working at Petsmart in Marietta….). I still have the SG, its a 1998!

That epiphone strat clone was my first guitar. Red with red headstock as well.
re: Is a calcium score of 0 fairly normal?
Posted by AthensRattler on 5/29/26 at 3:00 am to wallowinit
I have familial hyperlipidemia and regularly tote around total cholesterol over 250. In spite of my high cholesterol my calcium score was zero.
I wasn’t given the impression that the zero implies no risk. You can still have uncalcified obstructions. That said, based on the zero score, my high level of physical activity, and no family history of heart disease or stroke, i am still not on any statins at 44. We will continue monitoring.

I have 2 old Silver Jews shirts and they are among my most prized possessions. I was at their last show in the cave in McMinnville. Got to talk to David before the show.
Edited to add: I’m in a Drive-by Truckers HeAthens Homecoming 2014 shirt right now

Something like this can be used to digitize that footage so you can keep it forever: Amazon
Then you could cast it to TV from a laptop/phone/tablet, burn a DVD, or host it on a local server to stream.

My next door neighbor is Jimmie Dale Gilmore, one of the flatlanders, and close friends with Joe.
That is really cool.
Jimmie Dale has my favorite voice of all time. Well him and Roy Orbison. Jimmie signed a guitar for my dad when he was on tour with Dave Alvin and I couldn’t attend the show (dad was terminally ill, so we couldn’t make it). A friend went to show with my surf green strat and Jimmie and Dave signed it, made out to my dad.
I’ve always loved the Flatlanders. Joe will be missed.

Heupel looks like he always has boogers falling out of his nose. I bet you can hear them hitting the conference room table in meetings.

I own an Integra Type S as well,
Me too brother. An apex blue. I absolutely love it. Tried to get a Type R for like 18 months but wasn’t willing to pay a mark up and was always a day late on one at MSRP.
Looking back now I wouldn’t trade my Integra for the Civic. I’ll take the better exhaust, slight power bump, and better interior creature comforts.
Just put some slotted rotors, DOT4, and track pads on last weekend. Ready to rip now. Need to get a track day.
I will say it still isn’t scratching the high revving NA Vtec nostalgia itch. I may end up with an 8th gen SI or S2k before it’s all said and done.
So for OP, I’d suggest a 3rd S2000.
re: Any baw without a garage using a car cover?
Posted by AthensRattler on 8/24/25 at 5:48 am to lsu xman
If you care so much about your paint, then I would advise that a car must be perfectly clean and the cover must be put on/off very carefully. Without these precautions you will just scratch the clear coat with the cover as it pushes on grit that’s on the paint.
Just put your daily outside and baby the toy car.

Ummmmmm, he died from a damn snakebite
When someone dies quickly from a timber rattlesnake bite, its very likely that they just happened to be allergic to the venom. Without being allergic, an untreated bite would typically take many many hours if not days to be fatal from this species of snake.

I think my favorite annoyance that they do is rolling through stop signs.
They are vehicles who have to follow the rules of the road when it suits them apparently.
Cyclists should follow rules of the road and ride as predictably as possible but this argument is bullshite. It would be valid if no cars ever rolled stops, exceeded the speed limit, or turned without signaling.

It’s raffinase enzyme to break down the raffinose in gassy foods that you couldn’t otherwise process (it’d be left to microbes that would make you lots of toots).
