Lane has been a really good coach with some flaws for a while now.

That’s going to be the hard part, the transition between unrealistic expectations and reality. In reality, lane will have 4 and maybe 5 loss seasons, depending on how good he is will be how few of those seasons there are.

Lane is a flawed coach, just like every coach out there. Sometimes his hubris gets the best of him, but he is certainly as good as any other coach out there right now. I honestly think he is a good combination of two former LSU coaches. He has the systematic approach to things like Saban and he has the passion that O has. Now he is not nearly as extreme as either of those guys, but hopefully it’s a healthy balance.
Agreed, anything more than opinion on this is full of shite. That is completely okay just as long as people realize that it’s not the coaches that are doing this, it’s the message board people.

I wouldn’t say it’s time to move on to plan B but it is time for you all to get off the CCB roller coaster ride.

To everyone saying they are sick of Lanes games or being used, etc, it’s not lame, it wasn’t Lincoln Riley, it’s the CCB - great trolls, and a bunch of idiots that believe them. Just know that any competent AD will not let it slip what is happening and when.

It actually looks like he created them all around 3/20/2024.

Smart, get them out on the road so that his absence is not noticed.
1 - zero melt for missing out on Kiffin.

I want to qualify this, I think he is the best available coach and he is my preference. However, I still think there are several great options out there to not reset the market. Eric Morris, Rhett Lashlee, Golesh, Clark Lae, Joey McGuire. Most of these guys you could get an under 6 mil and have the ability to thoroughly vet and interview rather than spearing a big whale that is more interviewing us.

That said, I think I will melt if we get Drink. melt level 6

Already kind of getting exhausted with this Kiffin bullshite

Buddy, I hate to tell you this everything so far is not the Kiffin BS it’s the LSU fan base during a coaching search BS.

What’s the reasoning here? Texas Tech is better than SMU.

Reasoning is that SMU has been a perennial bubble team. If you beat them you are looking good. If you lose you’re looking bad. Tech is a legit final 4 candidate, your just looking at shades of losses there.

Wait till December 7th and then stake your claim

I am not sure that a game against Tech is going to prove anything either. I think the SMU game will provide a little better measuring stick for us.

goes to work for the Lakers.

I guarantee he won’t work for the Lakers, Luka won’t put up with him ever again. Potentially Nike, but Luka has a lot of clout with Nike as well. At this point Nick is tarnished, the best thing he had going for him was his reputation with players and that is gone.
If we do I bet we don’t have 15 false starts a game.

We suck right now because our coaches became apathetic of the past few years. Our issues are completely about fundamentals. We are obviously not stressing those, and that’s is something that cannot be fixed in 2 weeks, that is habits that have to happen over a months of consistency and striving for perfection.

Not true at all.
Fisher
Dabo
Kirby

That's the list of first time HCs that have won Natty's over the last 25 years.

This is not true,

Stoops (2000)
Coker(2001)

*Honorable mention Carroll(2004) he was a first time ncaaf HC at USC but had previously been an NFL HC before college

Also if you look at the numbers those first time HCs make up 8/25 or 32%.

That’s not bad considering Saban alone took 6 of those away from others. I honestly think it makes it a very viable track.
There is no way there is a legit connection between dalton and saban. Dalton seems great but he is an academic, had nothing to do with athletics at bama.
quote:

guess we have to ask how much input Dalton will have on the AD selection?

Based on Rousse’ breakdown of responsibilities -none, athletics rolls up to system president.

Honestly this could be a really good path forward, the two seem unified, sounds like the students will be appreciative of this approach.

That's going to take more fixing than just LSU. I know everyone shits on NOLA, but it really starts there - and I am NOLA born and raised. It's the calling card for a lot of people to move or stay in LA. Sorry dude, it's too much for this board, at this time, but brain drain isn't necessarily an LSU thing.

Completely agree, LSU can only fix LSU. Ultimately NOLA, and to a lesser extent BR have to get their shite together. This is a LA thing that the governors office is going to have to get all parties strategically aligned on. I don’t think Landrys partisanship politics can make it happen, but he isn’t the only one playing them the last handful of governors and all NOLA mayors have done the same thing.
