Wow. I mean even by your standards that is amazingly stupid. Bert is probably in our top ten right now but he's nowhere near the Mt. Rushmore of head coaches for Arkansas football.

And that is your ceiling. Still have nothing to show for it. I am not trolling. Just stating in almost 25 years, Arkansas hasn't been able to compete with teams in fertile recruiting areas.

How is Malzahn's job security looking? Y'all have turned it around a little but also have a tough second half. What record would it take for him to get canned?
I see no other team on our schedule who can accurately claim to be better than us at this point in the season. Arky and UGa have a good chance at beating us, but they will have to play better than they have all year to do so.
Back to the OP: Bert is facing the same criticism that Gustav is at AU: nearly four years in, the program should be performing at a higher level than it is currently. Gustav took some steps this season towards addressing his failings as an HC by (finally) turning over the playcalling duties to his OC, with decent results thus far. Jury's definitely still out, but it's looking a lot better than it did a month ago.
I'm not sure Arky fans can say the same about Bert. It will be interesting to revisit this after 10/22.

Wtf? Maybe if you are talking preseason 2015. One one claimed he was "tgoat" during or after 2015 season. Our defense was awful last year.

Normally I'm a kick em while theyre down kind of a-hole, and saturdays game against them didnt look like the last few games we played against him, but Arkansas has been one of those teams since hes been there that hasnt won a lot of games, but they have been IN a LOT of them all the way until the end and a lot of times against competition much better than them. I'm not a huge Bert fan but I do like his style of football and I feel like they have been a team on the brink for some time. IF they can ever get over that fricking edge, I think they could be competitive under him but theres just something missing. Again, though, they were completely outmatched across the board saturday.... but it was Alabama. I dont mean for that to sound cocky, but it is what it is.

Thats because Bama has evolved on O and D for the newer style of play. Bert has not. part of the demise of Miles as well, he just had far superior talent keeping him afloat
