They claimed Rob Smith was tGOAT DC's last year. He can only do so much with the talent he has.

Arkansas fans claim a lot of things on this board.

That was a good Arkansas defense in 2014. They just haven't replaced those pieces. Some good young linemen, but the back end is non-existent.

Enos is also great at QB development.

Robb Smith had a great first year here and we've regressed ever since. It feels like a recruiting problem which also lands squarely with the coaches.

But it's an uphill battle trying to recruit for Arkansas. We just don't have the homegrown talent you all do.

We need to learn how to cheat.

If the question is whether or not the whole season is lost after losing to two teams who are in the top ten and in the running for a shot at the playoffs... No.

If he starts losing to teams like Auburn this year then that is a different matter. You know what? We will have the answer to that question soon enough.

Not NC's in the off-season, though.

Looking forward to 8-4 sounds miserable.

Honestly Saturday was the first time it looked like serious regression had taken place on defense. I know Bama is good on offense but the Hogs D looked hopeless. Gave up the outside, couldn't get off blocks, tackling was shitty, coverage was awful... it looked bad on defense.

Their defense has been an issue for over a year now.

Last year they were dead last in the SEC in yards/play given up at 6.07 (that's bad, 100th nationally) and second to last in points allowed at 27.4 (68th nationally).

The interesting part about this year is the bad opponents they have done well against (Louisiana Tech, Alcorn State, Texas State). Alcorn under 3 yards per play, LT and Texas State both under 5.5 yards per play. Then you look at what Bama and A&M did to them (both over 10 yards/play) and it looks awful. TCU had 6.4 yards per play against.

So against Power 5 teams, Arkansas is giving up 8.4 yards/play, which is miserably bad. aTm and Bama didnt even run 60 plays on them, just kept getting huge chunks of yardage. TCU ran 90 plays on Arkansas. now their schedule is pretty front loaded, but it doesnt get any easier this weekend with Ole Miss. They gave up over 500 yards to Bama, aTm and TCU.

Sad part is even with his average to below average record, Arkansas fans still claim him as their best coach in football history. That ought to tell you how shitty and meaningless their football program is.

Last year it was, "LSU won in spite of Miles". Now, we're going into the tank without him?

I guess. I mean, UAB has better recruiting behind the two state schools than Arkansas. They have had one season where they won something in the SEC. They are not good at the football. Not sure how much better Burt can do. I do think he would kill it at LSU.

How about trying to have a real football discussion instead of just throwing shite at the wall.

Certainly arkansas should be competitive with AU, but I would think losses to MSU or Mizzou would be the signs of trouble. Arkansas will likely be dogs in the other 4 games.

Honest opinion. How many more games do you think you guys will win this year?

They're stuck with him. He's got a $15,000,000 buyout if they fire him anytime before 2018.

Hard to tell. I've only gotten to see one game with the changes to the staff.

Optimistic is 5. Pessimistic is 2.
