The kick looked good. Period. Fowler barely had a peep after Lemonnier commented.
On Bernard, it was either a catch, and then a fumble, or not a catch (as it was contested the entire way to the ground). Remarkable how there wasn’t even a hint of inquiry to a review from Herbie and Chris.
Tells you all you need to know.

Your sadness is delightful.

On the catch. Germie went over his back caught it clean. Came down got two feet down establishing him as a runner with possession. He then went to the ground before the ball came out. It was a catch, a tackle, and then the ball came out.
They made it quite clear on the broadcast that if a ball is kicked over the upright the entirety of the ball must be inside to be considered successful attempt. Many years ago in a meaningless bowl game it screwed Bama against Iowa St and Seneca Wallace. It’s how the rule is written.
You’re just salty that Bama won again. I do give you props for complaining about something other than the traditional refrain of holding calls.

Can Barney Rubble beat Bama without a rematch?

Lots of Bama enforcers out today! I applaud y’all.
I do like this response though, this is the analysis I was looking for.
On Bernard’s contested catch, both players hands were on the ball as Bernard was making his “football move”, therefore he never “established control” as it was contested all the way through it coming out.
So if it was a catch, the ball came out as a result of the defender causing it to come loose, and so he wasn’t yet down (see the replay) and the ground didn’t cause the fumble.
On the FG, the camera angle wasn’t exactly underneath, so it by itself isn’t the evidence you need, but it provided the basis for a fair review to reassess whether the ball did entirely pass within the uprights. And it really surprises me there wasn’t more dissection from the media (as stated the officials can’t review it as it was above the uprights).
So it appeared to be a prime opportunity for officials putting their hand on the scale, and I’m surprised therefore no one is questioning the call.

Lesbo still has a miserable losing record to Alabama at 2-7 while needing rematches and massive Alabama injuries in the same season to get his 2 wins

You’re blind or just intentionally obtuse. He caught the ball establishing the catch and coming down with the ball behind the defender’s back. The defender never got a hand on the ball until both feet came down and Bernard started turning. If the ball would’ve come out at that point it would be a catch and fumble. They continue fighting for the ball to the ground. No different from a linebacker trying to strip a running back on a dive up the middle. Bernard’s back hits the ground, and the ball pops out.

Again, you’re subscribing to a non-existent narrative. The refs followed the rules, same as when the one ref threw the 15 yard penalty flag because he ran into the bench area and lightly bumped a grad assistant 50 yards away from the play. The rules are the rules.

So you were what, 4 years old when Bama went to the BCS championship when Oklahoma State missed a FG in exactly the same manner in 2011?

Speaking of which, Procter was holding all game long.
