This is being overlooked as a pretty big factor. What does a famous out of town guy with $100 million do in a land locked rural town of 25k people? The guy prob couldn't go to grocery stores or restaurants without being bombarded.

Traded in signing autographs for an hour to being mugged in ten minutes

To be fair, you don't want to go to about 90% of BR.

I mean trying to pump up BR as some type of selling point is a take I guess. Outside of the food and the campus though it's the worst city in the SEC. Oxford is pretty tame but at least it's safe and has charm.

Haha, please compare Baton Rouge to Oxford, or any sec town for that matter

Most turds are several magnitudes larger than a diamond

Lane will experience a side of BR most in BR never will.
For example, we’re voting tomorrow on allowing Landry to be presented at the Baton Rouge Assembly Debutante Ball.
I’m voting yes.

10x as many potential car jackers, if not more.

It’s actually the opposite in Oxford especially off game weekends and out of season.
He will have a much harder time blending in in BR
People leave the coaches/players alone in Oxford.

There are about a hundred reasons for a college football coach to choose LSU over Ole Miss...
I don't think the town the reside in is one of them, honestly.

I don't think it's that big of a factor, but if it is, he'll be off to Texas next year or 2027.

Maybe, but only about a 1/10 of BR is inhabitable by human beings so it kind of evens out

This is now a Baton Rouge street view thread.

I really wish you LSU folks would stop melting trying to explain Lane. It’s pretty simple, he wanted a bigger paycheck for when he gets canned again.

Sometimes the river rises in Baton Rouge. Hope lane knows how to swim.

Sometimes the locals get angry.
And people get murdered on LSU’s campus or the neighborhoods nearby.
