From a fan and fit standpoint, they are such a freaking bad add to the SEC

UNC and UVa should've made the jump a few years ago. Our fans sent like a thousand emails to board members and the AD saying we wanted to jump to the SEC.

There are almost 300 freaking schools with baseball programs, yes there are a lot of directional schools blah blah, but still to have a majority of the teams that can't scrounge together 1000 fans even including the visitors side is sad.

There are FBS football programs that average under 15k fans a game, like more than just a few. And they only play 6-7 home games a season (Eatsern Michigan averages under 5k in 2015). And you think it's unreasonable fdr baseball programs to have poor attendance when they have 25+ home games a year?

Link to where I said anything about it being unreasonable? I believe I presented in more of a "This is counter to what most people would see at the games they themselves attend".

Not sure what a random football attendance stat has to do with anything or how it even goes about proving that Mizzou having an above average attendance rate even with only 731 is somewhat shocking but to each his own I guess.

Damn, there have been more Mizzou baseball threads posted on SECRant than there have been fans at Mizzou baseball games...

because there are fewer games and fewer teams and yet still football has teams that average below 10k fans per game. If you want to compare them equally, go dig up some average attendance numbers for DII football schools. It shouldn't be shocking that some of these directional commuter schools can't find 1000 people to go to baseball games. And proportionally speaking, 731 isn't and being ranked 81st in attendance isn't any worse than a D1 football school averaging 10-15k for a game when the national leaders are eclipsing 100k a game.

In our defense it has been cold as balls for almost every game. It's a growing sport of interest, but has a long way to go as they compete with 2 MLB teams within a 2 hour drive.

So why does UK (with similar issues) still outdraw you 3:1?

Cold as balls = check (I have been to snow games at the Cliff)
MLB close by = check (Reds are about an hour away)
Long way to go = check (at least you have a CWS run so you have history)

First half of the baseball season has to compete with M and W basketball which Mizzou does not seem to have similar issues with (tho your WBB attendance looks to be getting better)

Missouri should turn their baseball stadium into a safe space, and the good folks would flock to the field.

(Has that already been said?)

When I was a student (06-10), Gator baseball games were some of the best fun I had while the sun was still up. Any of you who didn't/don't go to your schools games really miss out.

Texas, before you throw stones you ought to examine your glass house. You saw our safe spaces and raised us campus wide Texas "SAFE ZONES" as well as safe zone "allies" who have the power to deploy their "stickers" and convert any area into a safe zone. Hilarious.
