Having a better running game and supporting cast will mean Newman doesn’t have to take risks to win that he did last year.

Here's the deal, Newman has never faced close to the level of competition in the weak ACC that he will face in the SEC.

I don't see how Georgia doesn't win it all this year. Their nemesis, LSU, will be down a little but this year, so it should be smooth sailing for the Bulldogs.

This isn't really what Barton was doing, but if I had to rank the QBs on where I expect them to finish in QB Passer Rating (assuming they play the whole year)

Top 1-2 will have huge YPAs and tons of TDs with their skill weapons around them and talent and experience in their systems
1. Mac Jones
2. Myles Brennan

Leach's QBs generally have tons of yards but aren't usually at the top of QB Rating because their YPA is lower and they throw some picks. I think Trask is going to throw a few more picks next year with all the new WRs and the fact that the metrics say he got pretty lucky last year not to throw more
3. KJ Costello
4. Jamie Newman
5. Kyle Trask

Not sure what to make of Mond. Nix will improve, how much? Wilson similar. Franks will get a lot of easy throws in Briles offense. Guarantano is going to struggle losing all his receivers. The Muschamp track record with guys like Hilinski is not good.
6. Kellen Mond
7. Bo Nix
8. Terry Wilson
9. Feleipe Franks
10. Ryan Hilinski
11. Jarrett Guarantano

No clue? JR Plumlee will make plays with Kiffin but I'm not sure how many and I'm guessing there are turnovers in there too.
12. Shawn Robinson (who knows)
13. John Rys Plumlee
14. Vanderbilt QB

I agree with almost everything you said but at number one, I would have Brennan with Jones at two, but I can understand why you ranked it that way as an Alabama fan. It's the same reason why I ranked Brennan number one cause I'm an LSU fan.

Well, didn’t put that money under my kids pillow.

3 guys improved against tougher competition.

I honestly only did that because I've seen Mac's passer rating numbers after games against 2 relatively solid defenses (and 1 of them a game where he threw 2 picks and still had a solid one).

Both of them will have Top 10 national passer ratings, I'm guessing. And I'm not even sure that means they have "great" years, they just both have such great skill talent around them and good schemes that they will have a whole bunch of 16/21, 285 yards, 4 TD/0 INT games against bad/average teams.

Certainly, LSU will not be as good as last season's team. As last season's version of LSU was the best football team in the history of college football.

However, LSU doesn't have to be as good as it was last season to win the SEC West for the second straight season in a row. As LSU is still loaded up to the gills. Not to mention that no team yet has been able to stop LSU since it switched to its new high-octane offense.

I expect Mac Jones to do a good job but not anything great. I think Najee will play a bigger role this year in both the running and passing game. Alabama still has Smith and Waddle but it's a lot easier covering two than four great receivers. Plus I think Jeudy was obviously the most talented of these guys. Also, Bama really doesn't have a pass catching tight end like it has had in the past. Think O.J. Howard or Irv Smith Jr. - Nobody close to those guys on this roster.
The thing that scares me is I don't think this defense is gonna be that greatly improved which makes things interesting and kind of 'shaky' for 2020.
I can see this unit losing to UGA by a score of say 26-20 in Tuscaloosa. Would not be surprised in the least bit. Just my opinion.

How badly do you see them losing to LSU in Baton Rouge?

So that’s 3 that didn’t fall off a cliff going to a better conference.

Do you have any examples of guys who did?

Not sure about that. The Georgia game is early in the season so they have time to get better. Kind of like 2015 with the early season loss at home to Ole Miss.

All your posts have leaned towards him getting worse out of the acc. The same logic said all 3 of the guys I named would have done the same thing.

Bryant had only one game against an SEC opponent where he threw for more than 1 touchdown.

He only had two games against SEC opponents where he threw no picks.

Also his rushing numbers dropped off quite a bit from when he played in the SEC.

As for Lambert, he played better opponents when he was in the ACC as opposed to Georgia.
