Does Bama remind anyone else of Loyola Marymount with hank gathers and bo kimball. Really solid well coached team. Good defense really good offense.

I’m not suddenly going to pretend I’m a basketball fan but as an Alabama fan I can say this is the most excited I’ve ever seen the Alabama fan base excited about anything more than a football NC. But following that up with a competent basketball team has a lot of them on cloud 9.

No one knows what you’re talking about

I'd say more like the mid 80's Harlem Globetrotters

People thought I was off my rocker when I stated that within about 2 years, Nate Oats would be kicking serious arse and we'd be, at least competing for the SEC title... Not jumping the gun but it appears that prediction was accurate..

I'm old enough to remember those teams at Loyola Marymount. They got up and down the floor in a hurry!!! Sadly, they lost Gathers, collapsed and died before the NCAA tourney, or they would've been problems in the tourney. BAMA played them and Wimp throttled them as good as anyone that year.

I feel like everyone needs to chill. Alabama played a team that apparently doesn’t think defense is worth their time last night. I’m going to hold off reading too much into this admittedly hot start to SEC play.

Tennessee and Florida are pretty good teams.

We've played the #2 hardest SEC schedule to date so far and are 7-0 with an average margin of victory of 18 points.
We're good. How good, we'll see. But we're good.

Tennessee just lost by 25 to Florida, who was missing 3 starters. Not so sure either are any good at this point.

#10 Tennessee - @ W by 8
#23 Florida - W by 15
#30 LSU - @ W by 30
#38 Missouri - February 6th
#43 Arkansas - W by 31
#52 Ole Miss - W by 18
#54 Kentucky - @ W by 20
#66 South Carolina - February 9th
#69 Auburn - @ W by 4
We've played 7 of the 9 best teams in the league and won all 7 - 5 of them blowouts, 1 of them controlled the whole 2nd half and 1 of them close. We haven't played the 3 worst teams in the league yet.
Maybe the league sucks (probably), but we've pretty clearly shown at this point we are the best team in the shitty league. We'll see how the rest of the season plays out.

College basketball is such a defensive game in comparison to what it was back then. Loyola averaged 130 points in their first two rounds of the NCAA tournament during the 1990 season. There must be countless Sweet 16 teams since that didn't even combine for that many points in their first 2 games

Don’t discount what your team has done.
This is a 2 seed team if they continue this high level play.
Hats off to Oats for bringing fun basketball and hats off to the players for executing thus far.
I think the league will get better and better as the years go by. Hard to spend all the money on football.

The only high level team Alabama hasn't played is Missouri

SOG, certainly you recall the SEC prior to about 2016. The league was awful for about 10 seasons and it puzzled me how no one ever stepped up, other than UK and Florida some.
Not until the teams were pushed to play better OOC games and no influx of coaches like Barnes, Pearl, F Martin, etc. this league was a joke.

Yep - the SEC West was the equivalent of the Big South

Coach for coach, is the league is as strong in basketball as football?
I mean there is Jimbo with his hardware from this past season.
Saban goes without saying.
