Instead you twist yourselves into gay little pretzels making absurd arguments about why you "deserve" to be elevated over an undefeated P5 team. That's the only reason people get annoyed with Alabama fans.

BUT MUH STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE, DAMNIT!!!!

You asked is there anything special about Alabama. You now have your answer

Poster Tuscaloosa can't admit that Alabama is only in the playoff because Jordan Travis got injured.

They struggled against unranked Boston College and Miami, and were down 13-0 to North Alabama with Jordan Travis.

Playing a schedule ranked in the bottom 15 of all power 5 schedules doesn’t make you deserve jack shite other than sitting at home watching real football teams compete for championships.

I think Alabama is one of the 4 best teams, so I think Alabama is totally justified being in.

Yet Alabama is playing in a NY6 bowl if Travis isn't injured.

I think our resume was elite against an extremely difficult schedule and we are currently one of the best 4 teams in America. Any argument against us that excluded that first part is disingenuous. We didn't get in because we look good in uniforms and have good recruiting rankings. We got in because of what these guys did on the field against other really good teams throughout the year.

On the flip side, I also think we got the benefit of the doubt and understand why FSU fans are pissed. It would not have been a travesty to go with them and leave us out.

So, I think we're worthy in multiple ways and I also think we got a little lucky.

If there is a God in heaven, next year LSU will be sitting at #12, with a 10-2 record, and get left out for a #23 Liberty. Just like Oklahoma would be this year.

As a comparison, last years Alabama team was not worthy. They hadn't proven anything. They had great players and they lost to a couple of very good teams on the road in close games, so you could argue they were one of the "best" if you wanted to try and go that route I guess, but they hadn't actually won anything. Our resume was extremely blah. We lost our 2 toughest games.

This year's team is not that.

Punishing them because Miami and Clemson had disappointing seasons seems ridiculous, but these things happen when you have a subjective system to field a playoff rather than an objective one.

I mean, is it fair? No, not really. Their conference is what it is and they can't control that. I don't remember anything like this gnashing of teeth over the vast majority of G-5 undefeateds who have been left out of title contention over the years and to me there just isn't a huge difference between those situations and FSU. The ACC is a G-5 conference all but officially and has been for as long as I can remember. People suddenly trying to prop it up because they don't like what the committee did are being juuuuuuust a little disingenuous.

Automatically putting a G5 team in is ridiculous.

If they beat a couple of P5 ranked teams, that's fine, but G5 is different from P5.

There should absolutely be a bar for them to clear to meet the threshold of being included, much like the old BCS used to do. Some years there might be a legitimate G5 team out there on the fringes of top 12 status, but some years there simply isn't (this is one).

This is an uneducated opinion.

The ACC isn't great but it's definitely better than G5, besides that, FSU also beat two SEC teams this season.

Agreed.

The committee needs to be more consistent with their decisions.

Throw out as many pointless metrics you want. It doesn’t change the mathematical fact that 1 is more then 0.

So last year the committee thought that TCU would be better for TV than Bama? What a stupid take.

The ACC had a winning record against the SEC this year.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about Bama getting in, but I understand it. They will draw viewers. They are a good enough team to win it all (see the Michigan players' reaction to them getting in.) That's why I predicted Bama would get in on Facebook Saturday night.

But, for FSU, there was literally nothing more they could do than not get Jordan Travis hurt.

The committee was talking out of it's neck when they said the Noles weren't downgraded because of his injury: of course they did that. They outright said that they thought Bama would give Michigan a better game because the Noles would not be playing with their starting QB.

Would they? Who knows. After all, even TCU beat Michigan in the playoff last year.
