And most LSU would be jumping for joy screaming STTDB to everyone if they were sitting in Bama's shoes today.

Oh Jesus Christ spare me the fricking drama. Alabama is in because they're better than FSU. in fact every team in the playoffs is better than FSU get fricking over it.

LSU outranked USC in 12 of 18 BCS components. There was nothing shady about that. The question was OU or USC.

Probably, I don't see a problem with Alabama fans celebrating.

Both teams had a legitimate argument to be in.

I do think it's dumb how a few Alabama fans are trying to revise history and pretend that they got in because of playing a tougher schedule or whatever.

And the comparisons of FSU to Liberty are retarded.

What you just said is total hype. Did you watch how poorly Alabama played in several of their games?

#3 FSU vs. #2 Washington

#1 Michigan vs. #4 Texas

Alabama got in because they beat the B2B defending national champs to win the SEC while navigating a top 10 SOS to get the job done.

JMHO, the champion of the SEC should always have a spot in the playoff. This is the strongest conference in the country as evidenced by the number of national championships won in the last 2 decades.

Possibly. But my eyes tell me Bama is better but will never know because of the stupid 4 team playoff.
Perhaps FSU should have supported moving to 12 this year

I'm sure those things were factors but the majority of the reason FSU didn't get in was because of Travis' injury, per the committee.

With a healthy Travis, FSU is at 3, Texas at 4, and Alabama at 5.

No argument. Well, I would argue Georgia over Texas.

And let's not forget we are letting the cheaters in. Their damn coach was suspended in six of this year's games. That is the definition of DAMN

You can believe what you like, I don't believe they'd have left the SEC champs without a seat at the CFP table. The committee is made up of 13 members, 5 of them are ACC affiliated, and they still made the decision to give Texas and Bama a seat while bumping Michigan to #1 with their weak SOS.

Yeah, the Michigan stuff just got glossed over, they should be ineligible but everyone is waiting for the incompetent NCAA so nothing will ever happen.

Best teams are probably Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State, however that would never fly.

I think the committee sincerely believed one of Alabama, Texas, or FSU would lose and the situation would be fixed.

Otherwise, you just drop FSU when Travis gets injured and head the problem off at the pass.

It was just a perfect storm of chaos this year, the team with arguably the biggest gripe is Georgia.

I'm just going off of what the committee said

When you get to that third team, it's hard to make a case for Texas over undefeated Florida State (with Travis).

And you can't make a case for Alabama over Texas because of the head to head.

The loss of Travis and the Louisville game in particular was a major factor in their decision.

quote:

"Florida State is a different team than they were through the first 11 weeks," Boo Corrigan said after the rankings reveal. "It was an incredible season. But as you look at who they are as a team right now without Jordan Travis and without the offensive dynamic that he brings to it, they are a different team, and the committee voted Alabama No. 4 and Florida State No. 5."

quote:

"Player availability was really important," Corrigan said. "You could lose a running back. You could lose a wide receiver. But a quarterback as dynamic as Jordan Travis changes their offense in its entirety. That was really a big factor for the committee as we went through everything. I feel horrible for Coach Norvell and the players. They're a different team now than they were earlier in the year. It's been a long couple of days."

The top 4 was actually set up really easily and they screwed it up. 3 teams went undefeated and won their conferences, the last spot was between two one loss conference champions that happened to have played a head to head. Any reasonable person can admit that FSU got completely screwed.

Alabama was clearly a better team than Okie St

Then the BCS system made the correct selection, the goal was to pair the top 2 teams in the country, and it did.

Probably, but that didn't happen.. With 4 spots for 5 P% conferences the only surprising thing is that this hasn't happened before. A precedent was going to be broken either way:

1. No undefeated P5 conference champion has been left out.
2. The SEC champion has never been left out.

The bottom line is that after watching FSU's offense in it's last 2 games, no one on the committee thought they had a chance to win it all, ala TCU last year.
