Bama fans are you nervous about O’Brien?

To me this is a bad hire from Saban. I know everything seems to work out on Sabans teams in the long run, but come on this guy hasn’t been in the college game since 2013. He coached in the big ten in 2013 where the offenses were a lot different than today. The guy also had minimal success in the NFL as the Texans ahead coach and rode Brady and Gronk to the super bowl in New England. If I were Tide fans I would be a little nervous because this smells a lot like our Scott Linehan hire.

So far y’all have questioned every hire. What we know is or he does in fact interview his hires and two they have all had success.

I seem to remember the Rant disrespecting the Kiffin and Sark hires as well.

I mean. There’s only a mountain of evidence it is likely to work out. You dolts have said the same thing for every OC hire since Jim McElwain. But I guess there’s always the chance he’s another Major Applewhite.

It cannot be overstated that Sark was really, really good as an OC. His in-game adjustments were unreal.
I think BOB will ultimately do well, but IMO we honestly won't know how he compares until we can see it on the field first.
ETA: If anyone is interested in what I mean from a technical standpoint, take a couple of minutes and watch this Twitter video breakdown from Jordan Rogers.

It's Saban's program. Doesn't seem to matter who the coaches are. I wouldn't be worried in the least. They might actually use some of those star RB's a little more now.

No. Saban is in charge, so I feel like everything is under control.

I guess we'll see of Bill and Bama hang a 5 and 5 record.

Saban built the roster. That's all I need to know.

I definitely expect a step back on offense. That would have been the case with Sark still at Alabama as well. There’s no replacing what Sark did either. That being said, Saban has proven over 15 years at Alabama that coaching changes aren’t going to cause major rifts.

I remember the Rant predicting LSU would lose 7 games in 2019 and you disappearing in November.

Not in the slightest. Bill O'Brien was at Penn State for two years. His starting QBs were Christian Hackenberg and Matt McGloin. Both those guys were 3 year starters who had BY FAR their best year under BoB
BoB Years in Bold
2010 McGloin: 55% completion, 1548 yards, 7.2 ypa 14 tds, 9 ints, 128.5 Rating
2011 McGloin: 54% completion, 1571 yards, 6.5 ypa, 8tds, 9 ints, 118.3 Rating
2012 McGloin: 60.5% completion, 3271 yards, 7.3 ypa, 24 tds, 5 ints, 137.7 Rating
2013 Hackenberg: 59% completion, 2955 yards, 7.5 ypa, 20 tds, 10 ints, 134 Rating
2014 Hackenberg: 56% completion, 2977 yards, 6 ypa, 12 tds, 15 ints, 109.4 Rating
2015 Hackenberg: 53.5% completion, 2525 yards, 7 ypa, 16 tds, 6 ints, 123.9 Rating
Yea how will Bama ever succeed with a guy would didnt win big in the NFL
