Jeremiah Cobb is better. Alston knows it.

Team captain, voted by the players. That’s not a good sign.

* No idea if this is accurate, but it fits. *
Scoop on Damari:
Alston asked to redshirt (he's played four games so far) and Freeze told him no ... that he was being paid to play and he needs to play.
#1
Freeze told Alston that he's either all in or all out.
So Damari chose the latter.
I guess we could be mad at Freeze, but Damari cannot just quit. And he definitely quit.

Exactly how many games did the quitting RB help to win for Aubie this year?

That's a tough spot, to be honest. He is a senior. If he plays, no one ever hears this story and he has to hang up his cleats after the year. Beyond that, Freeze likely doesn't give him many carries because the dude asked to redshirt.. but you can bet he'd get at least 1.
Or he can quit which will be a really bad look, but at least he can transfer somewhere new and give it one more shot. Given that information, I don't blame him for that choice, but it's a tough spot.

Given that scenario, there is no good guy or bad guy. It is just the situation. If the kid goes and enrolls somewhere else and plays another year, more power to him. Freeze can be a vengeful prick but he saw that the kid was being paid to play. What else is he supposed to say?

I don't really blame Freeze for his response either..

It’s not like he’s hasn’t played and injuries at that position are so common, it’s likely he play more. Idk how much NIL money he could expect from another school if he got benched on a bad Auburn team, then quit. Freeze not wanting to redshirt him is to free up the scholarship and he’s in no spot to sit people out of spite, I think he’s playing who he expects to give him the best chance to win.

I think he injured a shoulder against Baylor.
He’s not elite, but he’s a solid contributor. I don’t think the portal will have him going to a P4 school.
It is a reflection of Hugh’s lack of testosterone.
“Will we ever catch a break?”
Go play golf Hugh.

I heard we was looking good in practice, so the refs made him quit.

He asked a senior who is 2nd string at his position, who isn't injured, to redshirt halfway through the season? Maybe I'm wrong, but that seems really weird to me.
I think you read that backwards.

Where does that leave y'all in depth? You know how grueling the 2nd half of the season can be. If something happens to Cobb, who's the next up?

Damn refs got it all in against Auburn. The REC probably ordered this too. Darn sure ordered the fumble at the goal line call
