3 exceptions to the general rule. The list of G5 QBs who transfered up and did not have success is far longer.

Either that of you've figured out something essentially every college football coach has missed and you should go into coaching.

Based on your argument I look forward to watching Landen Clark winning the starting job over Leavitt.

List all the lower level qb’s who have transferred up and looked very mediocre or below average. You can’t because you are only familiar with success stories but the list of qb’s and other skilled players who have under performed would be too long to list. Brown may do great but it’s just a reality of the situation that he won’t be. Diego Pavia transferred with essentially his previous offensive coaching staff, maybe Brown is too I have no idea who is on Auburn’s staff. But it’s one of the reasons all the love for Clark Lea is a bit premature

its the same situation. Same coaches, same staff. This will be Brown's 4th year in the system.

You're strawmanning my position. I didn't claim Brown would be next year's Heisman. He may not be good at all, I can't tell the future. All I pointed out was that he was, objectively, the most productive QB in the country last year - per raw stats. This is interesting and worth keeping an eye on him.

If you think I'm so dumb, make your prediction at FanbaseU - lets see how smart you are.

He lost to Old Dominion, Navy and Memphis last season. I have no doubt that he can replicate that type of success at Auburn.

You claimed he would be in NY, at the Heisman ceremony.

And I've pointed out why a lot of people don't expect that to translate up to the SEC.

The argument you've made is that stats translate up levels, irregardless of how those stats were accumulated and against what skill level. Using your argument, Landon Clark should be the LSU starting QB because his stats are Elon are significantly better than what Leavitt has accomplished at Arizona State.

I did not. Can you not read? I said he very well COULD be - which implies - IF he keeps putting up those stats, especially at Auburn, he should be in New York.

I have not made this argument, nor have I implied it.

He was decent in the game they upset us but our offense sputtering was the bigger issue I think. Curious to see how he does in the SEC now. I think Miami was the only game he looked bad in but that defense had some big time talent.

DeBoser lost to 5-7 FSU, 6-7 Oklahoma and 7-6 Vandy already at Bama

i have no doubt he can continue this pattern of success until you pay him $60,000,000 or more to go away

I’d gladly take 8-4. At least that’s a sign of progress.

At the G5 level surrounded by the most talented team.

Last season, against UF, he was 23-36 for 263 yards and 1 TD with 66 rushing yards

Against Miami, he was 20-36 for 274 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT

Not too shabby with G5 level talent around him

I think the advantage Brown has, if he has one, is that he has been in the same system for 3-4 years. I’m not expecting him to be a world beater with his throwing motion, but hopefully that’s enough to make plays and keep drives alive with his legs and score some points. I also think the fact that he will have a top 3rd SEC defense will help him. WTF knows..
