I have no idea why we don't hear his name more, but he straight up carried USF last year. Similar to JD in 2023. JD had a better year, but Brown wasn't that far behind him last year - in terms of raw production. All the idiots will mention SOS and all that without considering the talent around JD vs the lack of talent around Brown - but we're not surprised, right?

Brown could very well end up in New York at the end of the year, and should have been there last year.

They may not make it in but they’re going to be in the playoff discussion when November starts

He’s a good QB but he’s not near the Daniels level. He will win games for Auburn but he will also lose them games,

I’m looking forward to seeing him on the field but man is he raw. His throwing motion is arguably worse than Tebow’s was.

But his sheer athleticism will win us some games and at this point we’re just looking for any sort of upward momentum. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

I agree with everything you said.

The American isn’t the SEC. The grind of the SEC will get to him but I do think there will be moments where he looks like a Heisman contender.

If Auburn goes 8-4, it’s a damn good year.

Brown will benefit from having one of the best defenses in the SEC next year. Really excited to see what he can do in year 4 of Golesh's system

Go watch him throw a couple passes and then circle back to us.

Hell of an athlete though.

Looks like the 6th rated passer in NCAA football for 2025

eta: since youre an Ole Miss fan, that means there were only 5 Qbs that had a higher passer rating than Brown last year. In all of college football.

Thank you for starting this Auburn discussion thread in the absence of any started by their rivals, the Alabama Crimson Tide.

I went and watched him. He had 3158 pass yards, 28 pass TDs, and only 7 INTs. Ranked 7th nationally in passer rating.

Did I miss something?

His throwing motion is incredibly labored and takes way to long to get ball from hands to release. Thus far in his career he's shown no ability to work through his progression, his success is entirely predicated on his first read being open and then if it's not just pure athlete the play.

The good news for Auburn fans is that he won't be asked to be a progression based passer and everything in that offense is RPO / quick hits.

However, unlike at USF where they have the best athletes on the field at every position compared to the rest of that conference, the SEC will shut down those first reads with more success than anyone could do in the American. And unless he's a Cam Newton type athlete he will struggle to just out athlete everyone once that first read is taken away.

All this tells me he may not be a high draft pick. Ok, I don't disagree... But he's proven to be a good college player, which is what my OP was about.

At the G5 level surrounded by the most talented team.

There is significant doubt how applicable that is to a P2 level where he will not be surrounded by the best team.

This isn't Drew Mestemaker who's arm talent easily translates up.

Oh that's right, Trinidad Chambliss was awful last year... Ya know, you're own player.

Ever heard of Kurtis Rourke and Diego Pavia?
