So you're a short timer probably with some bull shite disability and a huge ego even though you are confused as to whether you're a Bama or Georgia fan. Do you have blue hair too?

I’ll let your responses speak for themselves from this point forward haha

No disability, decently fit, and, like most in PB, a conservative of God given hair color.

I’ve not read this site much until recently. However, after reading through this thread I feel like I have lost brain cells. Auburn is a good school but it’s not any better than Tennessee or Alabama really. I have no clue who the OP is, but the insecurity of Auburn fans is kind of pathetic. It’s harder to get into Tennessee than Auburn OOS and I don’t even care. Comparing schools like UT-Knoxville, Alabama or Auburn is more about what “fits,” you. You’ll make about the same and excel at any of these schools really. What an idiot.

Arguing with people, whose sole purpose in life is to bring down a rival university, is not worth it. I shouldn't have assumed that since you attended and graduated from the esteemed Harvard of the South that your life would be better and you would have better things to do. Have a good day.

My response will reflect I am proud of Auburn's stature as a stem research institution. Stem=future.

Next time get lost instead of charging in high and almighty over an intra-state conversation that bothers you none at all.

I have a nephew at Auburn. It has almost a private Christian college feel to it nowadays. Props to them.

Bama is turning into Jersey Shore South.

Nope. Spent four great years in Knoxville. Have a great life in the DFW area. This is a sports board and some moron comes on here posting crap about a mediocre academic school like anyone cares. I’m sure being “little brother,” in your own state kills you. All you guys care about is beating Alabama.

Look I don’t care for Alabama, UGA or Florida. Those are the games real Vol fans care about. However, I know people who went to those schools and other SEC schools. It’s all about the same and if you apply yourself you’ll get the same opportunities. I guess when your football team probably won’t be anything better than 6-6 for the next decade and your basketball team is going back to being irrelevant you have to start dumb threads like this on a sports board. Have a nice weekend.

9 pages. This post might be the best troll ever. And yes Auburn is considered academically better than Bama, but they haven’t reached Florida or Texas levels. There are a lot of good schools in the SEC and a few elite ones. Every school has something they are really good at. Bama has the law school. Auburn has the Vet school. Good students will succeed no matter where they go.

This guy gets it.

I've always said, I could have lined up every person in my graduating class who decided to go to Auburn or Bama, and just going off personality and behavior I could have correctly guessed which people were Auburn types and which people were Bama types. I would have had a 90% success rate out of 200+ people.

There are always a handful of folks who seem to go against the grain in either direction, but not many.

That's not a good thing or a bad thing. But it's a real thing. The fanbases are very, very different.

Yes, I had to correct that deliberate omission.

The superiority complex out of Auburn is so fascinating to see sometimes. Unless you’re in engineering or building science it really does not matter.

That's the whole thing in a nutshell. Auburn is the better academic institution BECAUSE its heavy in engineering and other programs that lead to well paying jobs. The smartest kids will gravitate to majors that lead to better paying jobs, and Auburn offers a higher percentage of those programs. BTW, Auburn has become dramatically more selective in a really short time. Auburn had an 85% acceptance rate in 2020 and its down to 46% for Fall 2027. In the same time, the average SAT went from 1150 to 1345! That didn't all come from cherry picking in-state kids. Auburn is attracting more academically solid kids from out-of-state now.

Shhh. Pointing out facts will enrage the locals. They don't like seeing these things.

This is what happens when you latch your identity onto a school that's really only known as "Alabama's rival."
