Do you think every kid from said school is equal or something? How do you even know if you are taking the top kids from these schools?
Likewise, do you think every kid from a non "top20" school is automatically dumb or something?
These are high school rankings, not an actual indication of what students you actually took in.
You aren't making a strong case for better education with these types of generalizations. They absolutely do not support the claim in your title.

Dude I live in Dallas, Texas. It’s a great place to live with a booming economy. The quality of life here is great. Excellent food, resturants, pro sports and one of the best airports in the world. I love it here.
After college most people get real jobs in real cities. I guess you probably don’t realize that at Cow College.

If you lived in Alabama you would know the difference in attracting a large majority of the kids from Vestavia Hills compared to a large majority of kids from Minor. Every year for 15+ years. I assure you there is a big difference.

I'm from Alabama.
Although what I pointed out would be true in any state. Even now you just supported the fact it's a high school ranking, not an indication of what any college received.
You aren't attracting a large majority either. You mention Vestavia Hills which had 580 seniors (AI checked), and Auburn got 149 of those, which is roughly 25% of them. That's nowhere near a large majority.
And that score isn't based on the top, it's based on all. The worst student contributes to that top20 score the same amount as the top student. Again, it's a high school rank, not an indication of what you took in.
The top kids might have gone out of state to Ivy schools or some shite, who knows. It's not like there is some even distribution or anything.
It's a Fallacy of Division if you want to research it further.

Right. But in a school like VH, there's probably 550 or so kids in a graduating class. You've got about 50 kids who go to Ivy Leagues, Vandy, etc.... schools definitively more prestigious than what an instate school can offer. You've also got about 30% of kids who either don't have the grades to go to Auburn or maybe Bama.
I know for a fact there are countless kids from OTM schools to end up at Bama because they didn't get accepted to Auburn... but we'll just leave that there.
Auburn and Bama are primarily taking kids who are between the 30th and the 90th percentiles at a school like VH... so the average of these is likely going to be somewhere around the 60th percentile type of kid. That's likely a kid with a 28 ACT and a 3.8ish GPA. The more of these types of instate kids you can add, the better. And Auburn is taking 40-50% more kids from these schools each year compared to the other school across the state.

I know plenty of Auburn grads who have students in Tuscaloosa because they got more scholarship money…..but we’ll just leave that there. Some even posted it in a recent thread about school rankings.

Absolutely. Like I said, Bama pays the better applicants to come, and Auburn mostly makes those same high profile applicants pay full price. There's enough demand for Auburn to be able to do that.
