Well yea, because for years we had a November with basically no home games and every other season with both of our biggest rivals being away games. The trade off in even years was not worth it as a ticket holder.

That wasn't the reason. read the thread if you want to know why.

Kind of how South Carolina-Georgia played in November last year. Our game should always be in the first 3 weeks of the season.
But at night!

Even in a COVID year, they couldn't manage to pair LSU and Ole Miss up on Halloween night.
I expect schedules to get worse, not better, with this latest expansion round.

"Amen Corner" is a huge part of this rivalry for a reason.

Actually, it made it more manageable for you. Auburn, stopped playing Florida every year in 2002 when the SEC scheduling geniuses decided that two rotating opponents on the schedule would be better than years of tradition. Then in 2012 with the addition of TAMU and Mizzou, even that became an improbability.
But losing Georgia in its usual time slot was a choice that I still believe came about because of a lot of whining to the SEC office. In fact, all of our schedules in November have been screwed up because of that specific whining.

While true, UGA and bama were just 2/3 of Amen Corner.

I saw a rumor in another thread that the SEC wanted interdivision games earlier in the season to space out possible rematches.
What are people's thoughts on that?
Rematches have been uncommon.
