AL.com is hardly Aubie media but they are correct. Brian Harrison has a tough road ahead of him but if he has a good agent that negotiated his contract he will have a good payout in a few years.

If you take ANYTHING in this article seriously after reading this, I don't know what to tell you. It's garbage.

Well it's not scumbag Jimmy Sexton, so we may be ok.

Would it stand to reason any team with a new coach starts out behind? Harsin came in after early signing day, what more could he do in that short time? Is it impossible to use the transfer portal to fill glaring holes, build needed depth with this class then build a great class in his first cycle? Losing a recruit after his lead recruiter and the entire defensive staff were fired is unheard of.

Maybe we should have kept our old staff to keep a kid from going to Kentucky. More curious if he's really that great why Twill didn't take him to the U with him?

I already knew this recruiting cycle was going to be a bust. It was a bust before he was hired. We weren’t recruiting at the most important position on the field the OL.

Shocking. Things are not great at Auburn. Reckon that's why there was a coaching change?

Incorrect. Alabama picks and chooses, little bro takes what's left over.

It's hyperbole and I acknowledged over the top.

However, here are some points he makes that are true.

quote:

They used to call Auburn Running Back U, but as of Thursday this signing class of 2021 didn’t have a single one. That’s troubling and has to change.

quote:

Auburn class only features one linebacker in the entire group. And he’s a JUCO player.

quote:

and suddenly it’s pretty much there: dead last in the SEC West.

I'd be willing to bet we have never finished last in the West in recruiting, even in the Jetgate year or 2008.

quote:

Harsin is losing ground in the SEC West to Texas A&M

Harsin should be replaced with Auburn but that fact remains.

He adds Ole Miss on the end of that quote too which is probably not true but they have more buzz around their program right now than we do.

quote:

but no one is going to care about that in October.

A lot of things right now aren't Harsin's fault but like this part of the article says it's not going to matter when we keep getting crushed by our rivals.

This article doesn't even mention our biggest issue which is complete lack of quality on the OL.

Gus. Harsin was on the job 3 days before early signing day.

We were 7th last year and they were 5th. We had a coaching change, they did not.

Gus. Again.

It's almost like we didn't fire Gus for every reason I responded to above. You can't compare this year when we hired a coach 3 days before early signing day, when that didn't exist during our previous coaching changes/down years.

Jesus frick, calm down and give the fricking guy some time. This class was a dump because of the fricking retard we felt we needed to give a huge extension to, not Harsin.

look we all know that Auburn fans are soft and the guy may be a hack but the article still has valid points. Trashing the OP or his team doesn't change that. Auburn fans are like the the Iraqi guy telling the media we will defeat the infidels while the world watches bombs dropping all around him. Arkansas has either tied or a winning record against every Barner coach not named Gus so I was all for this change.

Are we really judging a guy on a recruiting class in which he showed up on campus after early signing day? In the middle of a pandemic? With very few ties to the region?

If Auburn finishes #30 in recruiting next year - time to panic. But this year? Good lord that is simple minded.

Apparently so. The dumbassery in this place is truly a spectacle to behold. Sheesh.

Agreed. We need to be in the top 20...minimum next year. But it needs to be a class that fills needs without neglecting kind of important positions like the OL.

Something like 75% of the Top 200 players were literally already signed to other schools before the guy inked a contract to coach at Auburn.

WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING FAHR HIM!
