The CFP isn’t a governing body and the courts can’t tell them who should and shouldn’t participate in their playoff
It would be like a judge in Cleveland filing a TRO against the NFL for excluding them from the playoffs because they are discriminating against a team with too many losses

OM would be in those crosshairs by the way

The CFP isn’t putting financial penalties on the programs
If an SEC team is 11-1, winner of the toughest conference in CFB and had a plaintiff on the scout team, you think the CFP will get away with saying "they weren't one of the 12 best teams?"

Not at all. The CFP isn’t vacating wins or putting financial penalties on the programs. They’re just stating “these are who we think are most deserving of a playoff spot”. It doesn’t automatically mean the best teams get in.
Punishing the school is a violation of the TROs, financial or otherwise.
The CFP is meeting next week to establish a rule. If they establish a rule in anyway punishing the players or schools, they’re violating the TROs and like Sanky / SEC when they just tried this, they’ll get added to the player suits.

The biggest challenge for LSU fans in understanding how this is going to play out is that their median IQ is 58.

Example, Notre Dame in 2025 was a top 12 ranked team. But they were left out in favor of Tulane and JMU because we felt they were more deserving”

2 days ago, the SEC’s policy was bullet proof because it wasn’t dictating who could and couldn’t play.

They’re specifically meeting to discuss a rule. They aren’t taking your wish-casting view.
But as has been proposed: LSU won’t be the only school. How are they going to keep out many schools and lean on precedence from one team left out in 2025?

It’s obvious now. If LSU doesn’t go 12-0 and win the CFP, it’ll be because the SEC and CFP had a vendetta against them.
That’ll be my talking point all season and I’ll use all of these bookmarked posts as evidence.

They will make an example of LSU. It will serve as a warning, and other schools will heed it instead of having their athletic department dismantled as well.

If they could just remove LSU and Ole Miss from the equation, they’d see the 2022 class was completely screwed.
The new rule is 5 for 5. No redshirts or anything like that. So 2022s only get 4 years and their star QB is ok to play his 6th year.

Not sure if they’ll actually do anything but they could come out and say “no teams with these players will be considered for the playoff”.
You mean players that are playing without eligibility because of a court order?
Ole Miss fans have ZERO standing to be calling anyone out.
