Seriously? In how many games does Bama make it to the 5 yard line 5 times and they only score 10 points?

You're delusional to say that Bama's offense isn't that good

You've got to understand that this is a fanbase that has talked themselves into Coach O being a solid hire.

They were tired of Les's "vanilla" offense, so they hired a DL coach. His last stint running a program on a full-time basis, he went 10-25. And they are excited about this

His wins at USC:

Utah (5-7)
Oregon St (7-6)
Cal (1-11)
Stanford (11-3) good W
Colorado (4-8)
Fresno St

His wins at LSU:

Missouri (4-8)
Southern Miss (6-6)
Ole Miss (5-7)
Arkansas (7-5)
Texas A&M (8-4)

If that isn't a Butch Jones special, I don't know what is.

Look, the Kiffin thing is about money if he doesn't find a HC job. He wants to be paid, but who doesn't. Alabama will probably give him the money or they may not. This is all a power play - and LSU is the pawn that is being played.

A fool can read this.

To all the Bama posters giving Kiffin credit for the trophies, I think you guys are forgetting that those titles belong way more to the defense than offense. He is better than I thought he would be, but he is also playing with more NFL talent than other teams he goes against. That helps to hide his problems.

My reason for not wanting Kiffin is the fact that I don't want Coach O to fill his staff with pals. We've had too many peoples with that at LSU. Coach O needs to pick the best fit for our system and for the SEC. We've seen a spread offense has problems in the SEC. We need an OC who can develop and recruit QBs and develop a passing game that actually complements our running game rather than hinder it.

I never did this. I loved the hire from day 1.

Without Kiffin, Bama doesn't get to the playoffs in 2014 and we don't beat Clemson in 2015. Exclude LSU, and we are putting up more than 30 points per game so far this year.

That being said so many of LSU posters have criticized Kiffin prior and during his time under Saban but want him as an OC now.

Since day one Kiffin arrived.

Bama doesn't win the natty last year without the job Kiffin did with Coker. Fact. They don't win the SEC the year before without the job Kiffin did with Sims. Fact.

No one ever accused Sims and Coker of being NFL talent.

Those lines and WRs were though. Kiffin is a great OC, I'm not saying he's shite. But I won't pretend that if LSU doesn't hire him that it is a massive failure. Kiffin helped modernize Bama's offense, but Sark takes over (because that is the whole reason he was brought on), I really don't see the offense taking a dip. It is similar to LSU with our DCs. We have had several who all ranked very high in defensive stats and did a great job. Great ones continue to do great, good ones look better than they are, and only truly bad ones (like our co-DC crap) can really mess it up.

If Bama loses Kiffin they will be fine. If LSU doesn't sign him, we should be fine.

I didn't hire Orgeron. Neither did LSU fans.

What is wrong with you? I'm not excited about Orgeron and the vast majority of fans on this site aren't excited about it. You're just making stuff up now.

We will get behind it because we have no choice - not because we chose it. It is what fans do. There are no other options.

Alabama's offense is fine. It is full of 5 stars all over the field and has a great defense. I'm not being critical of Alabama.

I'm just saying that I've never been that impressed with Kiffin.

Comparing him to anything that LSU has done on offense is hardly a selling point. The total meltdown of LSU's offense in the Florida game is an embarrassment. LSU should have scored 35 points on Florida. Or, at least 19 by kicking 4 FGs and a TD. Losing to Florida after dominating the game and running up and down the field on them was a complete joke.

We definitely need a better OC. Kiffin would be an upgrade. I'm just not sure that he is the best we can get.

If Kiffin is gone to either LSU or Oregon I wish he would do it now so that Bama can hire Sarkisian right now to avoid a bidding war. Since he is on staff the offense should have continuity. This also gives Bama a month to work together with sarkisian at practice to ensure everything flows smoothly.

Because we have fielded roughly two competent offenses in the last 10 years. I think Kiffin has a higher success rate

Your team's future success hinges on this hire. Sure LSU's D is legit, 2nd best in the country after Bama I/m/o.

However, LSU hired a D-line coach career assistant who's only head coaching experience is a bad Ole Miss run and filling in for coaches who got canned and hasn't run a major program. The defense will be fine but your offense needs serious help particularly on the line. You had the best 1-2 RB combo and they got abused against Bama. Ogeron had better get this hire right and get production out of the offense or LSU is just another 8 win team.
