Missouri and Vandy have turf field.

Oregon St and Texas have turf fields

It’s a penny pinching maneuver for teams like Texas and they deserve to be made fun of. I get Oregon St not having grass because of their location up north. Vandy also kinda of gets a pass because of their size as a school. Missouri we should just make fun of for everything anyway

If your climate can support it (like vandy)... your arse should have grass. Big 10 schools?... sure. Self respecting southern and west coast teams?... nah.

I understand Oregon State because of all the rain they get, and I can also understand high schools or small colleges with low budgets for field maintenance crews. But those are the only exceptions.

Vandy has a fully turf field including the pitcher's mound. I think our first year with the turf prevented 5 or so games from being rained out. Also, a lot of colleges use the players to help perform maintenance on a grass field. The turf lets the focus on school or baseball more instead of being groundkeepers.

Your school and especially your athletic program are trash. No one is buying what you're selling.

If a cow can't eat it, then you shouldn't play baseball on it.

Probably right. In addition to allowing games to be played that otherwise wouldn't, I recall Corbin mentioning that the turf helped get practices in, especially during the early part of the season.

Record since the install (2013) speaks for itself.

No SEC players are doing ground work.

No FSU field is real grass and dirt. They have a great field crew that takes great care of the field to keep it looking great.

Yeah FSU has real grass and clay. We have excellent field crew in Tallahassee that takes care of field and keeps it looking great! Only thing that has changed is the baselines are now grass instead of dirt like they were for years.
