Arky baseball backs out of series against Cal

After losing 2 games to Power 5 schools last weekend, the University of Arkansas has informed Cal (another P5 school) that they are backing out of their 4 games series scheduled this weekend. They are blaming the predicted bad weather.
But apparently the weather is not too bad to quickly replace Cal with Eastern Illinois.
Pitiful.....just pitiful.

They changed a 4 game series starting on Thursday to a 3 game series Saturday-Monday. Cal added 3 home games against Kansas State.

Cal was supposed to start on thursday and ice and snow is expected on Thursday & friday. New series starts on Saturday now.

They are doing Cal a favor. What's the point of having a team fly in from Cali just to have games cancelled, weather delays, etc. That'll save Cal time and money.
I'm a lil over an hour North and we're expecting rain/ice/sleet/snow Sat-Mon. Maybe F'ville will get all rain.

I think it is kind of a puss move, but at the same time the high tomorrow is in the low 20s. That is just bad baseball weather,can't imagine Cal was real excited to play in it either.

They were in contact with Cal and it was pretty much mutual.

You've gotta understand the cost for Cal. I'm pretty certain Cal doesn't have the money of our top SEC programs.
For them to fly in, get rooms, get meals, and then to not play but maybe one game isn't really worth it.
Most of the state is getting hammered with winter weather right now as well.

Playing in the Houston Classic at Minute Maid Park. Three games in 3 days vs. Houston, Nebraska, and Baylor. LSU was invited as the elite team to create a major draw.
