After his injury he played like a 5'9, 170 pound scat back that went down on first contact all the time and couldnt hold onto the football.

Arkansas athletes make their news on the field, so naturally the offseason is a low point.

You may be thinking of any one of several other universities in this conference

I can't post on the arky board, just asking the history of the player....his measurables and highlight tape look impressive, yet I see no buzz, and the write up was :

quote:

We went back to check Davis' 2010 tape and were thoroughly unimpressed. Davis is a straight-ahead plodder with zero lateral movement and clumsy feet. He lacks quick-twitch athleticism and has the power of a scatback. He's like a softer, less ball-secure Jackie Battle. Overdrafted based on straight-line forty time (4.37), Davis is quite likely to disappoint in the pros. He'll compete with Shaun Draughn for carries behind Jamaal Charles.

I checked the tape and saw the opposite

Pro: athletic, big, super fast, played in a pass offense (can pass block)
Con: timid and a FUMBLE machine. Perhaps it can be fixed, perhaps not

The rap on Knile out of HS was he was injury prone. Had 2 pretty serious injuries and I think he might have missed a good chunk of his Jr/Sr years.

Petrino gave him a shot. He's a physical phenom, and super super super nice good kid. I can't tell you how many pics of him with my friend's kids I've seen on facebook over the years. He's a demon in the weight room and attacks rehab like a monster. He's been hurt a lot and hitting the weight and rehabbing is all he could do.

The dipshit lame duck coaches namely JLS, and Tim Horton kept him out of contact for a year and a half and of course he had problems holding onto the ball when he came back because EVERYONE was ripping at it.

He's got speed, can get in space, and the jury is out if he can run in the middle in the NFL w/o getting hurt or coughing the ball up on the first hit.

I can't explain enough about how he's one of those high character guys and he knows he f'd up by not sticking around and playing for 2Beez, but he couldn't risk another major injury. I think he'll surprise a lot of people and last in the NFL for awhile, a lot of it will be due to his athleticism and he'll be a locker room and fan favorite if he has any bit of on the field success.

Reid likes him and Charles will need a break from time to time so I see him getting some playing time as a back up this year.

He is a GREAT kid Worked really hard to get to where he is today (KC Chief's) He basically had to help support his family from the time he was 14-15. He had at least 1 broken bone in HS (collar bone I believe) Then he broke a bone his 1 or 2nd yr at Ark. He had a break out year in 2010 only started like the last 6-7 games and was a leading rusher in the SEC. Everyone thought he was going to be the next D-Mac at Ark and maybe win the Heismen in 2011 then he literally shattered his foot/ankle before the 2011 season. He sat out all year and yes he wasn't the same running back in 2012 but honestly who could blame him after the "Train-Wreck" (or I should say Harley wreck) of 2012. He had 1 year of eligibility left and opted to enter the draft knowing his stock suffered after last year. I think he thought "I'll take the hit of less $$$ and try to make up ground in the NFL and get a paycheck. If he gets hurt again at least he'll be paid. He will work his tail off and I would bet $$$ he is going to be a shining star in the NFL (if he stay's healthy)
Here's a GREAt SI Article about him LINK

He broke one ankle and HS that caused him to miss his Junior or Senior year, then he broke the other ankle in a similar fashion in fall practice of 2011.

You couldn't ask for a better person/team-mate and hope he has his injuries behind him as he has the potential to be productive, make some decent money, and have a long career in the NFL.

All I've ever heard about him, both on & off the field, is what a hard-working, really good person he is. I share in the sentiments above.

Because he started running scared.

Seems like a great person though at least from what I've read.

Freak athlete, but a nasty injury history and some fumble troubles. If he stays healthy Kansas City will have a badass pair of RBs.
