It probably just makes the losses hurt much more than they should

You know how much I've thought about the Iron Bowl since Dec. 3?

Bored no. But my anxiety level is always lower coming off of a national title. I’ll get anxious again if we’re vying for a playoff spot in November.

Heres a view up high of The Strip after the national championship game. The bars had to have been disappointed at the low turnout. I dont know what can be done about Bama fans being bored

You would think so. But when Bama loses now it doesn't bother me near as much as when they sucked. It doesn't hurt as bad when you know they will still be competing for titles the next year even if they fall short one year.

Exactly!

Seriously. Has to be a bit boring. It’s a machine that rarely loses and is in contention every, single year. I ask this to the general rant population b/c some of my closest friends are huge Bama fans and as the season nears it’s not as exciting as it used to be for them. It’s an interesting study in human psychology.

This is -the- single most excited I've been in an off-season due to the excitement of what LOOKS to be a real gun slinger. How can a Bama fan be apathetic right now? We have always been a rush oriented offense... and now we have legit WR's and a boss at QB.

In the Saban era, I generally only get excited a week or two ahead of game 1... but this year I have been pumped all off-season.

And, I only read the OP but I'm sure it's been said plenty... life is short. Winning doesn't get old. It makes me hungrier and hungrier... but also, more and more appreciative for what I've gotten to experience as a fan.

It's a good question. If you were married to the most beautiful woman in the world, would you get tired of making love to her?

There's an old saying that covers this...

"For every beautiful woman in the world, there's a guy tired of fricking her."

While crass, it's pretty damn true.

Yep. I'm more excited for a season starting than I have been in a few years. While the week to week wins may not be as exciting, it isn't dull. Losing also hurts more than before.

But growing up in Florida, being told all my life that Bama sucks and will never be back. It will never, ever get boring.

Bored isn't the right word. It's still fun to win, but we've gotten extremely spoiled. People do not appreciate the success in the way they did at the beginning of Saban's run (say 08-12).

There's a saying that happiness is expectations minus reality.

Regular season wins don't really give a lot of Bama fans much joy these days.

When we are in a really close game against a tough opponent and the game is in doubt, ya, it's still suepr fun and exciting to win.

this is an historic run, that likely won't be repeated in our lifetime.

This is true. Alabama football likely won't have another stretch like this before I'm gone.

The good thing though is neither will any of our rivals. I'm living in a run of dominance that no Auburn or Tennessee fan will ever experience and that feels pretty good because I'm a sadistic monster.

Looks like that line has improved since LF ran for 1.7 against Bama in 2015.

shite no! Loving every minute of it. The only thing that gets old is all the sidewalkers that act like they know more about football than Saban.

I remember when our sanctions were announced in the early 2000s, my Auburn friends were laughing and saying that Bama wouldn’t be relevant again for 50 years, and I had no reason to believe that wasn’t true. I was disgusted with the way Stallings was treated at the end and could see that the people calling the shots had no clue what they were doing. Thank god for Mal’s persistence in 2006.

Times like these for Bama fans is fantastic and is absolutely not boring. It does make the losses hurt a little more, but it’s all worth it.

It doesn’t get old, it only gets better. Knowing that you have the best program by a wide margin is a wonderful feeling. Knowing that you’re only getting better then your closest competitor is in the even better feeling. We have built the dynasty of all dynasties. I love it.
