I feel like the crowd has been way more into it over the past few years than before. It could also be that we aren't as dominant and the games aren't as boring as they used to be so the crowd gets more involved. I know some traditional/old fans don't like the new lights and piped in music but our band has always sucked so I see that as an improvement

Zero complaints from me re: our stadium experience.

The atmosphere has gotten much better at Williams Brice quite honestly. The light show has had a big impact.

Texas was pretty bad during the end of the Mack regime and the Charlie regime. Was much like going to UNC for a basketball game (i.e. they’re only engaged if the team is having a good season and playing well in that particular game).
We had a pretty old school AD (Deloss Dodds) that left and then hired a horrible, penny-pinching replacement (Steve Patterson), and the atmosphere suffered. Every timeout you were flogged with commercials. There were a bunch of games I remember thinking that staying home in west campus and watching on tv instead of going would’ve been better.
It’s improved a lot since. By no means is it one of the “top” or “most traditional” venues in the country (albeit ig everyone has different standards and criteria for that), but the atmosphere has improved drastically.
Top flight in-conference competition should elevate it next year

Florida fans have a great new tradition at the end of the 3rd Quarter where we sing Tom Petty's I Won't Back Down together.
We installed LED lights this year so for night games, we do it pitch black.
It's by far the best tradition in college football right now.

First I’ve heard of this

Isn’t that an oxymoron?

Lots of piped in music.
Check, used to be local traditions and bands

Outrageously expensive concessions.
Check, need to get a loan before heading to game

More TV timeouts and less gameplay.

I don't think anyone likes any of these.
Fans do not

You couldn’t hear a f-35 flying overhead on its way to being lost while Sanfords video board is playing music. It’s beyond ridiculous.
Concessions are still pretty crowded so I hear so I don’t ever bother to miss a quarter to get a $8 coke.
Only redeeming thing is that we have an awesome environment at night when the lights are going.

All of the blinky lights at night games have been a good invention.
But all of the mumble rap produced on smart phones that plays non-stop during games has been a pretty shitty turn of events.

This makes sense. The rest of us are lamenting that our schools are turning our football games into wannabe nightclubs. But at SC football games have always been modeled after night clubs.

I personally blame the invention of the cell phone for diminished game day experiences. I lost track how many times I see people on their phones in the stands lol.
What the else are fans supposed to do during the literal HOURS per game of dead time where no football is happening on the field?
Serious question.

Disagree. I think the Ole Miss stadium experience has gotten much better.

The proximity of my seats to the Tito’s and Still Austin Whiskey stands makes for a better game-day experience. The less shittier product on the field helps too.

There are some aspects that have improved and some that have not. We do have a lot of piped in music but 10 years ago, we had a sound system so crappy that you couldn't hear it in some parts of the stadium. So I would say it is a trade-off. Concessions have gotten expensive but the selection is better and there's beer, so another trade-off. The lighting is much better than it used to be. We have a larger video board with a much higher resolution. They also added two other video boards in the southwest and southeast corners.
I would go with "slightly better" from 10 years ago.

As I posted, I agree. I think some in our fanbase just like to be contrarian.
