Archibald's is pretty good, but Dreamland is crap.

Never been to Archibald's but Dreamland was disappointing.

Just save your money and hit up Burger King instead. Much nicer establishment with higher quality food.

That said, maybe the one in Tuscaloosa is that much better than the one in Mobile. I haven’t been to the one in Tuscaloosa.

The original Dreamland (out in Little Jerusalem in Tuscaloosa) is the real Dreamland and it's great, although Archibald's is too.

My last experience at Archibald’s was not very good. It was in the early afternoon and the ribs had a lighter fluid taste. I have never had a problem at the original Dreamland, but the one in Birmingham is a totally different restaurant . Moe’s is dependent on which location. Jim and Nicks is always good. Slaws BBQ is average, but they have great sides.

Do what any real man does. Go to the store, buy a jar of Dreamland sauce (which is legitimately amazing), and slather it on BBQ that you smoke yourself.

Archibald's is my personal favorite for ribs.
Lots of great bbq in central Alabama.
Moe's in Vestavia has the best smoked wings in my opinion and Saw's wings are damn near as good.
Full Moon is good all around.
Bob Sykes in Bessemer is fantastic.
Golden Rule in Irondale and the small one on 31 in Hoover are outstanding.
Hard to pick a best it's all opinion.
Dreamland is the worst bbq in Alabama. I really would not even call it bbq.

Which Saws am I suppose to go to? I google it and there are about three or four locations scattered around town with different subtitles.

If you are wanting more traditional bbq, go to the one in Homewood.

Saw's Juke Joint is the best restaurant of the bunch. It has bbq sandwiches and the pork n greens and wings, but it has less pure bbq. Has a dynamite burger and chicken sammich though too. As Spleen said, has full bar and tv's and what not too.

Need to try Martin's in Cahaba Heights if you haven't yet. Their wings are dynamite too.

I go there a good bit now. One of my favorite BBQ joints in Bham now. Their ribs are very good as well.

Dreamland > Archibalds. Make sure you go to the original one though on old jug factory road.

Order:
- Tea
- Half-Slab with extra sauce
- banana pudding

Be sure to ask for extra slices of white bread to dip into the sauce as your app.

Slobbering thinking about that place.

The original location is still fine. Not as good as it used to be, but still good.

This is what happens when you franchise. I still really like the original, but I won't go to any other.

Went to the one in Huntsville several years ago. Some 20 year old white kid was manning the pit. I knew it was going to suck.

The kid left, maybe to take a pee break, and came back to find flames shooting through the slabs of ribs. They had to throw away the whole lot of them.

That would never happen at the original.

Dreamland is overrated. They built one on 280 in BHam where Chili’s use to be, had to go pick my sister up at the airport Last Wednesday and we stopped and ate it.....wasn’t impressed

Again...franchises suck. Often very different from the original.

I go to Dreamland for ribs and brunswick stew. Here in Huntsville I go to Old Greenbrier for BBQ.
