If this belongs on another board admins please move it. Figured it related since it's for a football game trip. Any other suggestions are always welcomed but this is the one I'm most curious about.

TIA

ETA: Probably don't have time to go to both.

Dreamland is good but Archibald's is better.

Dreamland isn't all that in my opinion.

Cool t-shirts though if you like that sort of thing.

Dreamland is overrated though for real.

Every experience I’ve ever had at Dreamland was pretty meh relative to my expectations.

That said, maybe the one in Tuscaloosa is that much better than the one in Mobile. I haven’t been to the one in Tuscaloosa.

If you want good barbecue go to Saws in bham. Dreamland is nasty.

I think going to dreamland is more about just saying you've been.

The original location is still fine. Not as good as it used to be, but still good.

All the other locations are blasphemous places and should be avoided.

The one in Tuscaloosa is in a shitty old house in a very sketchy neighborhood and sells ribs and bread and that's basically it.

Dreamland used to be great. I think the popularity led to a decline. Maybe because of too many customer, maybe phoning in some things.

That said, it will depend on your personal tastes on which one is better.

Which Saws am I suppose to go to? I google it and there are about three or four locations scattered around town with different subtitles.

Big Daddy dying lead to its decline. He actually slow cooked them. Once he died, his daughter changed the business model to serve more people and sped up the cooking process.

He died around 1990, IIRC.

When Big John died, the whole smoking process commercialized and the decline started. When his daughter started selling sauce and branching out the brand, the original was never the same.

Archibald's does it for me now and Saw's in B'ham as well.
