I think we can all agree that Notre Dame, the Big 10, and the Rose Bowl have held back changes that would result in us having a more clear national champion.

OU could claim as many as Bama we were named national champions atleast 6-7 more times but we only claim consensus titles not UPI or any other service not named ap and coaches poll together . BCS is obvious you win you win some schools usc auburn have claimed titles without actually playing for one .

UPI was the Coaches Poll, I believe.
Pre-BCS, split titles were unfortunately too common. I'm also not a fan of retroactively claimed titles. If Georgia tried to claim 1946, I'd take issue with it.

You can claim anything you want. You can claim you are a dinosaur. That doesn’t mean you are a dinosaur.
The NCAA recognizes 16 national titles for Alabama. The NCAA recognizes 7 national titles for Oklahoma. Five of those came 50 years or more ago.

OU didn’t claim ones we didn’t win Bama has ….. just the facts . Just because one service gives you a title doesn’t mean it’s a legit title when their were clearly a better team in each of the years we didn’t claim it . I don’t know how old that list is but it’s on sooner sports . OU has been undefeated and still didn’t claim titles a few years .

There are 5 other titles Texas could claim if we went that route. We aren’t aggy thou so we won’t claim them.

Neither did Mizzou.
What "route" are you referring to? kansas literally defied a player ineligibility ruling by the NCAA and played them anyway.

That link I posted was from the NCAA website. Here it is again in a different format. You can spin it as much as you want, they will still say Oklahoma has 7 and Alabama has 16.

Auburn has 12 undefeated seasons and 7 perfect seasons.
1900, 1904, 1913, 1957, 1993, 2004, 2010 were all perfect seasons.
